And this thread might be inspired by the fact I have watched the new movie, maybe its is

Anywho, couldn't help but compare when the movie was about Sherlocks rival, and a game of wits and what not, I was like, "HE IS TOTALLY LIKE L" even though sherlock's time was definitely way before then. >__>

Anywho, what if!?!?!?! I totally believe.

I really doubt he's related to Robert Downey Jr.    And I saw the movie, too.  It wasn't bad.  Sort of predictable, but what movies aren't these days, am I right? 

Anyways, the board's less quiet than it was.  And you're always welcome to darken our doorstep, Jackie.

Maybe, in that world Holmes could have been a real person. Maybe the Whammy house could have been started in the early 1900's to find the next great detective. Once L became a greater detective than Holmes, Whammy's would have looked for the next L instead.

I bet sherlock holmes character was merely an inspiration from someone the author new.

And I know death note is fictional but in fictional universes I bet someone can make a really good fan fic about the possibility. Maybe its Dr. Watson who was the orginal founder and is related to wartari in some way? Kinda fun to think up possibilities like that I believe.

In Volume 13 of the manga, "How to Read" they say that he's part Japanese, part a whole bunch of other ethnicities.

He lived in England for (he said) five years, probably the Wammy's House in England, but that doesn't mean he was originally British.  They never did tell exactly where he was born or what his parents were like or what happened to them.
