No offense, Meilag, but do you have any kind of sense of humor at all?  Just wondering, because I am all about humor.

And yes, there ARE other means besides a death note that someone can be killed.  I have the means too, but I prefer not to think about it unless I have to.

Yes, just to a lesser degree than you people.  Or rather, stuff that I find humorous, other people may find repulsive, vile, evil, etc...

Though I do have normal humor too, it's hard to understand what's meant to be a joke when you're reading it on a message board.  Sarcasm presents the same problem.

Yes, that's very true, hence the question. :smileyhappy:

A lot depends on how well the posters know each other too.  Emoticons only go so far, you know? :smileyhappy:

OK then, yes, I have a sense of humor.  But my normal personality is far too serious to allow humor to dominate my personality.

Problems also arise when people use emoticons for everything.

LOL, yes, I've been annoyed by the overuse of emoticons.

Well, I'm trying to get to know people on this particular board, and it does help to know how folks are in general and how they deal with others.

I am NOT a serious person. I am sometimes serious but not always.  There are very few things that I don't find funny and with few exceptions I laugh at evrerything.

For me, I consider it cutting people slack - I joke and laugh about a lot, but others who react angrily I figure either don't recognise the humor (maybe because they don't know me) or I hit a nerve, something they take seriously. When that happens, I like being told so I don't do it again.

It's all good.  For me, it's just all about communication, cutting each other slack and trying to understand the people we're communciating with and where they're coming from.

Then I'll make it simple for you.  You, all of you, Lover, Lupin, Bad_Witch, everyone else, are all merely distractions to ease the boredom of a life that has become..well, that's for another time.  Anyways, your arguments, ideas, ideologies, morals, etc. will never offend me or persuade me into some other way of reasoning.  I merely offer my advice and/or criticism, think on your reactions, and come what may.  My statements may be harsh, but that is because that is the type of person that I am.  I don't know how to be anything else.  But in between the veiled insults, there's usually a reason why I posted.

I must be bored though....I was just wondering if the OP meant that DN is a second verison of HP or that DN is exactly like the second HP book?

Yeah, I don't mind being a distraction. :smileyvery-happy:

To clarify: I'm a chick, ok? And I'm a hugger. And I call people "honey." That's just how I talk (really). I live in the South (if you consider Florida to still be the "South") and it's what comes out of my mouth and hands on the keyboard.

I've been trying to figure that out.  My first thought was 'troll' but who knows?  Someone could be unobservant and not understanding HP and/or Death Note and try to say they were the same.  I'm having a hard time believing someone is that stupid, so I'm inclined to want to chalk it up to 'troll.'

Flattering you or insulting you?  Or maybe it's both or something...

I think the person is just an idiot who never really bothered to watch Death Note.

Better that than being the focus of my attention.  That doesn't tend to end well for most people.

You know me too well.  Yes, the fact that I bother to remember or keep track of some people is a certain measure of respect towards them.  There are plenty of people I don't bother to remember simply because they're worthless and beneath my notice.  But don't pat yourself on the back too much.  You could only do that if you jumped to the top of my list.  And would require a high societal position or access to some powerful item.

And how do you know I don't hold such a power?

I never pat myself on the back. I have others to do that for me.

Call it a hunch.  Because if you were, the chances are that I would have heard of such a powerful person like yourself.  A piece of advice: the more power a person obtains, the harder it is to conceal it.  Though it is interesting to note that if a certain amount of power and influence are obtained, than it's possible to put down such attention.  But that's sort of an oxymoron since people will still know, but they'll just stop paying attention to avoid attention from the powerful person.

Maybe you have :smileywink: Plus, that's not true. There are two types of powerful people...those as you said who have power and everyone knows it, and those that have it but few people know it. Perhaps I'm the latter.

Also, you new sig :smileyvery-happy:

I doubt it. I'm sure the connection between you and your [as] profile would have peaked my interest.

That last type is merely an illusion.  Like I said, they can try to hide it, but the ones who make it their business to know the players, still know.  Power always leaves a trace.  And not just a paper trail.

Perhaps...or perhaps your just not in the know :smileywink:

Yes, yes...there is always a trail of some kind. My point was some trails are harder to follow.

Hmm...I wonder. :robotwink:  Not really.  :robotvery-happy:

No, it's not that the trail is harder to find, it just may be more dangerous.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter (The book the show was based off of, was released in 2004)

And the Deathnote manga was released in December 2003, so yes, Deathnote came first.
