#1 "A new Kira has surfaced at this point not much is truely known about him other than the fact that he uses others to do his work for him, that is currently all that we have at them moment, more info will be released at a later time. We will give them to you as soon as we have the information."

#2 "New information has been released, it seems that one person was able to get a good look at, who they believe to be Kira. They say that is was really difficult to see since he was shrouded by the darkness of the night. However he did say that he was able to see a glimpse of orange at one point when they had stepped into the street light briefly. If this is accurate or not will remain to be seen."

#3 'This isn't the first time that this street has had an incident like this, 24th street is probably one of the worst streets to be on at night, but this was one of tyhe weirdest for us, myself and my partner were on patrol like usually, when we started seeing people grasp at there hearts and collapse around us, we ran out of our car and check on the to find that none of them were breathing. From what we could tell there was one guy that was hiding in one of the alleys over there, we tried to go over but my partner grabbed at his heart and collapsed to the ground, by the time I looked back the person was gone.'"

Kira's Patterns: 

-Kira is currently using others to handle things.

-Kira is currently holding the original Note, from the shredded paper in the alleyway, this means the ones following them are simply using paper from the Note to do all this. 

The Rules:

1. You cannot guess who it is, unless you have proof to back it up, you'll have to use the notes and clues that are given to figure out who is who.

2. If your using an alt at anytime during this contest. (To play, for example if your guessing who it might be) please identify your main.

3. Try to keep spamming to a minimum, it's cool if your talking about the contest but things can get cluttered if it gets out of hand.

4. Any other [as] rules apply of course.

The Prize: A Death Note rank of your title and color choosing.

How it works:

1. Everyday at a random time, there will be a clue added, this clue will help you in finding out who Kira is.

2. This will go on until someone puts the clues together and finds out who is the real Kira.

3. There will however be a few twists and turns that will be explained as time goes on, so be sure to watch carefully.

4. Once we have an officially winner, the winners SN will be PM'd to an admin. From there the winner will be PM'd (at a time that said admin isn't to busy, this could mean a few days before a PM is recieved so be patient) and the winner will choose the Death Note rank title and color.

Clues:

#1 "I am Kira, Kira is me, through the other "Kira's" I am me."

#2 You've done well so far, but still don't know who I am, might I make it easier? Well then, it is all very simple you just have two follow the clues, if your looking for answers I have none for you. Posts that I have on this board are near to none. But I do have three things that might just help you. Hexagon, Octogon, or Square."

#3 "Never stop searching I'm not too far away. Eyes open, you'll soon see me clear as day. Know who I am yet? Or would you like to give up?

No? Alright then, I have someone new helping me or do I? That's for you to find out. Here is your clue.

A sign might come to mind, it might help you out, can you figure out what this sign is and what it is about?"

Tips:

Check the OP often, there will be changes made throughout the contest including updates in clues, updates in Kira's patterns and more.

The first clue will be posted tomorrow keep and eye out and make sure to add this thread to your subscriptions.

What if we figure it out before these "twists and turns"  are put into play? 

What I don't like is that most of the people entered into this contest don't deserve a custom Death Note rank.  None of them stayed here and kept the board alive for years.  You should have had to help support the board to get the rank, not get lucky in a contest.

but to get the rank you deff are gonna have to stay posted on the DN boards which will help with the number of posts on the boards... thats my thinking anyways

Apparently not since we aren't even supposed to be posting in this thread unless we submit our guess.  And the contest wouldn't require people to post in other threads or possibly to even look at them. 

Which brings up a good question: how many guesses do we get?  Just one?  Two?  Three?  Infinite? 

Also, was a clue posted today?  One was supposed to.  Or is it hidden somewhere?  It's already the evening.  How late are these clues gonna get posted?

Infinite since there are so many in the contest to begin with, plus doing that would simply make things easier and easier.

Ah, good, an idiotic riddle.  Because that's what Death Note was about, not logic and rational thinking. 

Also, another clarification question: you said that just one of the entrants was Kira, right?  I mean, the answer isn't gonna a philosophical thing like "Kira is in all of us" is it?  Because that would be stupid. 

One last thing: are these clues supposed to be researched in some way?  You never really explained anything about this contest.  Should I be poring over search results right now for hours or is this something that's supposed to be done solely within the thread, where all leads are easily accessible?  These are the fine details that you should have told us about.

How many guesses do we get? Because I think Kira is Meilag32. My logic:
1-His avatar is Lght Yagami
2-He's always supported the Kira's on this board. Since 90% of his posts on AS are pro-kira you could say through the other Kira's I am me
3- There are only 2 players of this game with "ME" in their name. If we are supposed to put the clues together, meaning Kira's true name will be found in the clues, he would be the better choice

Put it this was to figure this out, you have to think rationally, or else your not going to get very heard. And only the first hint is a clue, they'll get tougher and harder to figure out as time goes on.

That would be too simple as well as obvious.

And what's there to explain about it, that I haven't already explained? There clues that go by other conestants, it would be to simple as well as boring to make every surf around the internet for an answer that could easily be found by just looking at the clues themselves?

With the speed of this board, I doubt there will be many guess in a day. I'd suspect maybe 1-2 a day maybe, more if more people come, but it's not like I can work this around peoples schedules and such, as well as preventing people from guess would make people lose interest.

Yeah, that was my thought, but I doubted that it would be that easy.  Well, most of it.  My posts are 100% pro-Kira, though.  But I thought there was something within the riddle. 

And I just make the best choice to be Kira.  The rest of you are all too soft to do what needs to be done.

You barely explained anything, continuously saying that it would all be explained once the contest started.  Well, the contest started with no new info.

So, these clues aren't supposed to lead on a chase through the Internet?  Nothing else needs to be taken into consideration besides the clues?  Well, apparently I wasn't the only one who thought that.  Lupin took every post I ever made in the Death Note board as part of his evidence.  I too thought I'd have be digging through old posts and such for clues.

Is it Roxas666?  Their rank color is orange, after all.  And orange was possibly seen by someone...you I guess since you can't be Kira since you're running the contest. 

But of course, Kira being called "him" and you said that "he uses others to do his work for him" would still lead towards me.  Since I use people as tools.  After all, you don't pound a nail in with your hand, you use a hammer.  I do the same thing with people.  But Lupin already guessed me, and you said I wasn't.  Or is this a contest where it's a different Kira every day or just one Kira throughout the entire contest?

You are going on the right track, I'll give you that, but you have to look a little bit deeper, he is ranked orange but he is not Kira.

Kira's might switch throughout the contest, if it does you'll all be notified, but at this point right now it's a set track to who it is.

I was kind of more wondering what your response to it would be rather than me thinking that was it.  Both perfect_alex and  ArgylePancakes also have orange colored ranks.  Not to mention that they're Order of the Owls.  You know, owls come out at night and fly around in the darkness.  Kira was seen in the dark of night.  That whole connection.  But I hope your clues will lead to one obvious choice where it couldn't be anyone else but this one person.  The Owl idea leads to too many people.  

You know, this whole contest sort of advocates invasion of people's privacy. 

One last thing.  When you said that "Kira's might switch throughout the contest" did you mean Kiras or Kira's.  Because the first one means multiple Kiras, the second one means "Kira is".  I only mention this because your little riddle had that same thing.  "Kira's", not "Kiras" or "Kira".  I was wondering if that was a hidden clue within the clue or just a mistake of bad grammar.  You need to make sure the clues have perfect grammar because every little spelling mistake could throw people off.

Hm, well I always found to be the Order of the Owl color more of a gold color than actually orange. It for the most part has, in fact both of these clues have connected perfectly with them.

Hm, if your talking privacy of a persons profile or posts, no not really, unless by privacy, you mean by looking at person profile, post, ects. Though none of this is really private, everything used in this contest is out in the open, then even SwimNub could see.

I will say nothing to that though, not going to give more hints, but you might be catching onto the pattern.
