this show has got to be the worst show on tv right next to the rosie odonell show which was a complete failure..

c'mon theres got to be something worth filling that thursday slot other than this, id rather suffer through another xavier episode than have to watch this terrible show..

it was soo bad last night i turned on bill cosby.

Quite honestly, I wasn't thrilled either. But I know Jon Glaser can be hella funny and that pilots often have a different feel than the show itself. So I will give it a few tries before I drop it entirely.

i might catch a glimps of it but not before i watch always sunny on FX first.. i love that show .. now if delocated was anything like that then i'd consider it but i know it will never be as GREAT as that!

I am trying to figure out why adult swim has shows with 'live action.' So this could be a question or a comment... really. I mean I get that it gives variation, spinning towards a different demographic... maybe not, just variation in what adult swim watchers would want to watch anyway, in addition to  real animation. But it is Cartoon Network, I'm trying to figure out how many live action shows they had before, maybe they have always had 1 or 2 and I just haven't noticed (I'm out during the day, you know). So... oh yeah, things like Delocated and Look Around You, and one other... uh... I don’t know I think there's one I'm missing, I'll think of it. Anyway, they just seem to be representative of a fairly new/current influx of that type of 'normal' film/television. why is this, is it really popular now? I'm not going to say I haven't seen any of them, how could I judge accurately that way? Well, I have even watched whole episodes just to really get a better idea, and I am defeated by the fact that I watch this channel for Animation... so many kinds, not all kinds, but many throughout the day (I come home periodically, in between class). I watch Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry in the morning, for example. Yeah... so I feel if your answer is because it gives more variability to the channel, maybe more types of animation could be explored, I mean don't get me wrong, adult swim features from those early examples to the newest types of experimentation. Some featured for only short periods like 12 oz mouse that pose mini revolutions in animation's multi-linear progression. I think the minds that make up this program.... oh I just remembered... well it’s on now Tim and Eric, I won't change it... I'll give it a chance while I’m writing... I guess it stems from the fact that some cartoons have bits of live action in them, so it’s virtually impossible to completely separate two sides of the same coin. I love the one actor that's in this (T & E) that’s in the Office. And they do have a bit of animation in them. It's funny because I really like Important Things with Demitri. I know it’s on Comedy Central, but I feel like if adult swim has these others, it would fit better at adult swim than on Comedy Central. I think the first and most obvious reason I'm quick to judge live-action being a part of CN is because my eyes adjust to watching animation and no matter what your connection... new Animation shows look amazing even with a regular TV. And live action loses that look of perfection. I get used to the processing feel of it, that every bit of it was synthesized by lots of hands, work, and involvement all without visual recognition. It leaves animations nameless, as animations don't produce heroes of reality, where we can imagine them as people who live as us normally, but go to work to be somebody else. I like seeing the product of people that go to work to do anything they can imagine, without face. the cartoons don't give me any preconceived notions about real world and make it all that easier to fall hard for them. Get drawn in and stay in the story completely... sorry I really like the one that's on. Well, I have to go, thank you for your help.

I believe [AS] has live action shows now, not just as a means of change and showing something new, but because the live action shows that they have or have had tend to fit look and feel of the network, and/or the sense of humor. Tim and Eric and The Mighty Boosh, a new show that's on it's way, really have that colorful, strange, and surreal look that's dominant among Adult Swim's shows. Delocated has the kind of awkward, improvisational humor that dates back to Home Movies.

I can't explain why else they'd be picking up more and more live-action shows, and less animation. There is the fact though, that they're faster, easier, and cheaper to produce. I know that's a terrible reason, but [AS] doesn't have a huge budget, and a lot of their animated shows have huge, long production periods - a year, if not more, for just ten episodes. I think that's why they're trying to fill the gaps with a ton of new, faster shows. Animation isn't really honored any more, though it really should be. And, in a way, that is what [AS] is about. It's for adults that still enjoy the magic of cartoons. Though that's fading fast, I think Superjail! is representative that [AS] hasn't completely lost its ways, so it's no wonder that show got so wildly popular so fast.

I must stress the point though, that shows shouldn't be completely cast off just because they're not animated. Tim and Eric and Tom Goes to Mayor are great examples of shows that managed to mix animation and live-action in a totally creative and effective way. Delocated, too, would probably be less effective as a cartoon, because of the premise and the humor. But yeah, a lot of the [AS] live-action shows certainly find ways to push the limits of reality, like any cartoon. Likewise, a lot of cartoons find ways to be depressingly realistic.

Oh, and Important Things with Demetri Martin undoubtably belongs on [AS], and I do hope they buy it or something. Few shows have lasted very long on Comedy Central.

It's supposed to be rediculous, and therefore funny. You're taking it far too seriously. If it was really occuring, yeah, that'd be creepy. Sometimes you just need to see the line between reality and fiction. Most shows on [AS] have this kind of absurd humor. If half the stuff on Superjail!, ATHF, of Metalocalypse really happened, it'd be a horrifying world. But it's fiction, so it's funny.
