DBZ is my favorite anime of all time, I own the entire story on dvds, have for years. Toonami, through DBZ, was what really drove me to become an anime fan. I'd love to see it re-aired, but even I can't deny it has a very slow pace. I wouldn't mind if it got passed over for another old favorite, or at least started airing at the Buu arc, Buu being my name here.
It was where Kai and Nicktoons left off afterall.![]()

I adore the entire DB series and have nearly gone bankrupt supporting it even so I never ever want to see the original Funimation dub aired ever again. Sh*t just air the Big Green dub if we're just not supposed to not give a f**k about quality and facts. I don't care about my childhood enough to allow such a terrible thing back on the air when if money is thown at it enough a better dub in HD (Kai) could be shown.
Yes I know it's a pipe dream currently. Yes I'm aware that Z tards only care about nostalgia and it would boost ratings. Yes I know I'm being a completely irrational fangirl which is redundant to say but god f**king d*mn it the dub even uncut is an insult that even the voice actors can agree on. I want no part of this even if its the only option available I refuse to support airing the mondo cool dub of DBZ.

I support traditional marriage, not these liberal politically correct Saiyan-Human marriages. It's sick. What's to stop men from marrying shape-shifting animals? Or Androids? It's a slippery slope. And the King of the World (who still hasn't released his birth certificate) is a socialist trying to shove this crap down our throats. Just the other day I saw a show where a boy turned into a giant monkey! Clearly the evolutionists at work, denying our holy Lord who came from Namek.

That dub is....imperfect, looking back, but the Buu Arc isn't THAT bad. In fact I only consider from Ginyu through maybe Picollo meeting Cell to have consistently poor dialogue. Plus the Faulconer dub music, particularly Cell and Buu's theme, is highly enjoyable to me. Preferable to the japanese score if I'm being honest.

The Buu saga translating and acting is better but not even close to Kai at least in my opinion. Now I'd be fine with showing the Buu saga as long as it came after Kai but I'm aware pleasing me is not the goal, I just don't support it airing.
I'm not a Faulconer fan, never have been aside from a few songs but his music doesn't influnece my hate for the dub. If it did air though I wonder if the Japanese score would have to be used or if the rights of the American music are still in effect.

One hour of DBZ is pretty much essential if Toonami is going to live

I'd rather have Dragon Ball on Toonami. Does Nick have the rights to that too?

I kinda disagree. It may be essential IF it's gonna take over the whole Saturday night block.
The DBZ Uncut version from 2005 might be nice, but I'd more like to see just the occasional OVA or something if it stays in the current 3-hour format rather than going 4-1/2 hours from 9-1:30, then repeating.

Yes yes and more yes.
...
Put it this way...bringing Toonami back was step 1. Step 2 is DBZ.
Its a multple step program...but 1 and 2 were the most important. All the other steps just include bringing back a lot more old Toonami shows.
Gotta start small though.

I love how much we want DBZ on the new Toonami, yet FUNimation was campaigning people to bug [as] about Panty and Stocking.

If DBZ wasnt brought back I know at least for me I would defnitiely watch if OS,YYH and Gundam were brough back. Was never a huge fan of Tenchi but Big O was also great. Its not my field of expertise but does anyone know/think they could bring back DBZ with a combination of the other show's listed?

They brought it back for April 1st and it retained almost every viewer who came for Bleach with over 900,000 total viewers for an unadvertised rerun. Clearly Goku and friends still have the magic and we may very well see DBZ on May 26th but that is a big investment and airing DBZ just once a week is rather brutal due to it's slow pace but no show is more associated with Toonami than DBZ.
Personally I'm warming up to the idea. They could air it uncut and it would easily draw a crowd. I'd rather see Dragon Ball since Kai is on Nicktoons but DBZ has always done better here.
There are some long time fans who would say it simply isn't Toonami without DBZ but IMO Outlaw Star, Yu Yu, Kenshin, Big O, Gundam and Tenchi could make for plenty of old Toonami flavor without DBZ. Then again, I'm flexible and like I said the masses demand DBZ and who am I to argue?
So who wants DBZ back and how much?
