Not for a while, that's for sure. It'd at least have to wait until Durarara finishes airing on Adult Swim.

A story shouldn't just give people what they want, but also what they didn't know they wanted.

I've been planning on waiting for a box set too. I'm getting kind of impatient though so I might just sck it up and just buy them a few weeks apart. It is kind of awesome that the initial release only had 3 volumes, so it's not as bad as it could be.

Yeah, but those volumes are more than $40 for each. FMA Brotherhood Blu-ray is less than that, and it has thirteen episodes a volume and postcards. I know I said before that I own the DVDs and I don't regret it because I like the series so much, but on an objective viewpoint, it's not a great idea unless you have cash to spare.

i know right. but despite the fact that FMA-B is 64 episodes long it could be put into a complete box set just like Dragonball GT was (go check amazon to see what it looks like) However FMA-B is WORTH buying the individual dvds. theres 5 dvds total and so far ive got 2 and in celebration of the Final episode airing on [adult swim] i  bought the last 3 dvds for FMA-B on amazon (their really cheap now) my problem with durararas dvds is that their so overpriced and its a short series. from what ive heard durarara has 26 episodes. so it should be in a complete box set. or  aniplex of usa COULD make the dvds like Funimation made the first 2 FMA-B dvds. Example: put the first 12 episodes including the bonus episode on a 2 disk dvd set and then put the last episodes (episodes 13 to 25) on another 2 disk dvd set. if it was like that then id buy it for sure. im sorry this was a long message but there are alot of dvds that i am waiting for the be released and i am a little impatient "cough cough Moral orel volume 2 and 3  code geass R2 anime legends, delocated and  mary shellys frankenhole"

People keep on saying it should been in two halves because Durarara is distinctly different from first half to second half. I never got that style of thinking, as it seems to me like the current DVD separation is a better fit. First DVD set is introduction episodes (first nine). Second and third, I won't say because the show hasn't concluded on Adult Swim, but they're different from each other.

Plus, I think Aniplex has money issues with Durarara, particularly concerning the dubbing. They usually go 50/50 when it comes to sub-only or dual track, but for Durarara, they hired some of the best voice actors around to make sure Durarara's dub is high quality (which it is), which means they're taking the series seriously. It's not like they're Funimation, who can treat FMA: Brotherhood (I own all Blu-Rays by the way) pretty cheap by comparison. That's my take on it at least, but considering that the DVDs are selling pretty well here, I doubt their regret their decision, and I doubt they'll change the price soon. And whether they'll release a complete set? Again, it'll have to be after this series concludes on Adult Swim for obvious reasons.

A story shouldn't just give people what they want, but also what they didn't know they wanted.

ok i did notice that aniplex picked out some big name anime voice actors such as steven blum and johnny yong bosch plus crispin freemen. as for the dvd ilk wait. just knowing that a complete dvd would really cheer me up. but until then i can watch this epicness on [adult swim]!

I would love for them to release a complete series box set or at least make the current releases a bit more of a manageable price.

Is it likely in the immediate future, though?  No.  Unfortunately.  So you've got to make do with what's available or hold out and hope there's a cheaper way to own the series.

Right Stuf is currently offering the complete set (parts 1, 2 & 3) of Durarara! for $105 as part of a Christmas bundle. Compared to Amazon's $80/DVD, that's one heck of a deal! I believe the sale goes through Dec. 21st. This post is a little late, but I hope it helped anyways. Haha. :smileyhappy:
