Elfen Lied is WAAAAAY too bloody. From what I've seen, Durarara!! is like a slightly tamer Baccano! Should be big with the Bebop and Ghost In The Shell crowd.

Well that may be, but it's less like a kid's show than Bleach or Kekkaishi, right? I think it even qualifies as seinen rather than shonen.

I'm not sure what Baccano! qualifies as, but if you've never seen it, it's back on Hulu right now. Warning: don't get used to the voices of any of the characters in this if they happen to show up in Durarara!!; they WILL change!

I don't know...people becoming immortal and only being able to die by eating each other through their own left hands is pretty dark. But a headless biker chick seems about on a par wtih that.

Still, I'm sure you agree that it feels less like a kid's show than Bleach or Kekkaishi. Maybe more akin to FMA:B than Bebop or GITS, as far as the current [as] lineup is concerned.

Headless biker chick has a cool scythe.

In the first episode she uses the scythe to attack some dude.

However, once the scythe goes through the dude, there is no blood, there is no laceration, and we even see him later in the series as if nothing ever happened at all.

There's only maybe 3 scenes where I recall there being any blood at all, one of which being a flashback.

Dullahans tend to say the name of the person who is about to die then they perish or use whips made from human bones. Though they tend to use the whips to blind people instead of killing them.

I have never heard of them using shadows to harm people.

Kim Manning has said herself that they cannot get elfen lied (though she wanted it).

Durarara is definitely low on the blood. but its HUGE on language and suggestive content lol. and despite there being little blood, its def [as] material lol.

No-name girl is kidnapped presumably to be forced into an AV/prostitution. That's in the first and second episodes. Don't think she is ever heard from again.

That's the only 'suggestive content' I can recall in DRRR.

the idea that they took some murdered girl and attached someone else's head to her body, (even though it turns out to be a fake-out) is pretty gruesome. Especially when you remember that they supposedly do it to appease an ass-face teen and his sister's creepy incestuous love for him.

And the gang violence is still pretty scary and there's the Slasher scenes and Blue Square's retaliation against the Yellow Scarves.

The Celty's head story in general was stupid. I don't give a fuuuuuudge about her bull**tut-tut** love life, those aren't the answers I wanted, nor did I want them within 4 episodes.

She started as the focal mystery, should have stayed that way. Information release in the show was awful.
