Character Summery: Namie Yagiri is the cheif of Yagiri Pharmaceuticals.   A somewhat demanding character she only ever shows sweetness to her brother Seiji Yagiri, who she harbors feelings for.   She is behind the recent human hunting in Ikebukuro which invlolves kidnapping people whose disappearances would not be noticed for unkown experiments.  She rely's on Shinra for  tasks including keeping their secret.   Namie doesn't like the fact that Seiji is in love with Celty's head.  She want's to get rid of what she calls "that thing."  After Yagiri Pharmaceuticals ends up merging with another company, she makes a deal with Izaya and becomes his Secretary.  And even though she inusults and fears him, she willingly goes along with his plans with admirable patience. 

Appearance: Namie is a young woman aged in her early to mid twenties. She has dark brown hair which she wears down that sweeps all the way to the small of her back and has a fringe swept to one side of her face. Her expression is usually stoic or angry, and she has pale skin and brown eyes. She wears a typical long white lab coat and a light green turtleneck shirt that changes to a darker shade of green at the bust and down. For her bottom garment she wears a dark red skirt and black stockings.

Summary: A resident of Ikebukuro and Mikados best friend from childhood. He was the one who encouraged Mikado to come to Ikebukuro. He is enthusiastic about picking-up girls, but he seems to fail at it. He was depressed and lonely before Mikado arrived because his girlfriend was kidnapped and injured during a gang war between the Blue Squares and Yellow Scarves, which he led at the time. After Anri is injured during the Slasher incidents and the rising presence of the Dollars, he is forced to become the leader of the Yellow Scarves once more. He despise Izaya for manipulating him when he first formed the Yellow Scarves, but returns to him again for information about the leader of the Dollars and discovers it is Mikado. He leaves Ikebukuro with his ex-girlfriend, Saki, during the conflict between the 3 main forces in Ikebukuro. Masaomi has commented on not letting Mikado "go to the dark side", claiming that he has already gone through it.

Seiji's trouble started when he was just a little boy under his sister Namie's care. One day, Namie snuck into her father's study with him to show him the cool head floating in a jar that was sitting on his desk, the head of a Dullahan named Celty. From the moment he first laid eyes on it, as a little kid, he became enchanted with it and continued asking his sister to help sneak back in to see the head. 
 
When he grew older, Seiji continued seeing the head even as his older sister took control of the company and showered him with gifts and affection. At one point, Seiji took the jar with the head in it and kept it in his room. However, a stalker named Mika fell in love with him and saw the head in the jar when she broke into his apartment. Seiji responded by slamming her head into a wall to keep her mouth shut, killing her, then called his sister to deal with it. 
 
Some time after that incident, Seiji showed up on the first day of school to the same class that Mikado, Kida and Anri were attending to announce that he would no longer be attending school, as he believed that his new purpose in life was to spend every waking moment with the girl that had Mika's body and Celty's head. Namie even agreed to support him financially out of her own love for him. This strange attitude confused most of his classmates, but Seiji didn't care as long as he could spend his life with Celty.
