I was under the assumption one of the episodes addressed this. Basically, Celty no longer cares about the head, she's happy just being herself, and if she got the head back, she's scared that it would change her in some way. That's what I gathered from the episodes focusing on the head, anyway.

I think it was okay. While the major stuff wasn't solved, all the supporting plot points throughout the series were concluded nicely. And Celty's head is still there. I liked it better than Spice and Wolf's ending (both seasons).

And I know I said this before, but you are aware that there's one more episode after this one, right?

Edit: Honestly, I don't know if there will be a second season. However, it's not an exaggeration that Durarara is the studio's best-selling franchise. It's so popular in Japan, especially amongst the female fanbase (mostly due to Shizuo and Izaya) that they'd be idiots not to make another season some time down the road.

Aye where to start?

First the battle was such a major letdown. I wanted to see Anri and Celty in action and maybe even Mikado. Masaomi was clearly too injuried to fight though. Even though I'm happy Kadota came to rescue it honestly would have been so much more epic to see Anri, Celty, Mikado and Masaomi take them on. Anri and Celty alone could take them all out and Mikado would have to keep Masaomi safe but ah well. I'm glad that Horada got what's coming to him. Good punch Masaomi. That scene where he passes it out is kinda freaky. I understand they all needed to talk about stuff but I mean the dude was bleeding to death. Talk about it in the hospital where you know he won't lose anymore blood.

Shizuo attacking Horada was pure comedy gold. Gotta love him although I hope Celty lets him know that Masaomi wasn't behind the attack. I mean the people he usually takes out aren't as big of a deal but it would be really bad if he went after a high school kid esp when he didn't do anything to him. I wish sooo bad that Anri could have done some damage to Izaya. He deserved it for messing with them all. The problem was is he found her weakness and used against her if he hadn't she probably would've destroyed him. Another letdown for Anri action but this and last ep are probably the closest we'll get to seeing badass Anri. I'm happy that Simon got to punch him though. Another one my fav scenes of the ep. **beast** that **beast** for still having Celty's head though. Ugh one day I hope he gets more of what's coming to him.

Kida and Saki's scene went from cute to not cute at all. Ok dude Kida I get you wanna live your life with the girl of your dreams but don't freakin leave your best friend that you begged to come to town and Anri and then leave them both!!! It's one of the most bittersweet scenes in the whole series for me. To this day I'm still so poed at him leaving. I love Mikado and Anri but they are sooo boring without him. Like Mikado said everyday life without him isn't the same and it's the truth. The only thing that kept me interested in their scenes was Masaomi's energetic personality otherwise Mikado and Anri were their cute but boring shy selves.

This is why I want a second season so bad. The creators can't get a huge Kida fan like me into this series cuz of him and then make him leave just like that with no explanation. It's just beyond cruel. Sorry guys I just really am so torn up about this lol.

I enjoyed this show way more than I probably should have, but this finale left me with an odd feeling.

durarara (the anime) is based off the first 3 light novels and the novels are still going so ITS VERY possible that a second season MIGHT be made once the novels are finished

Yeah.  I definitely would like to see more episodes.  I knew beforehand that the manga goes on after this point. 

Btw.  The manga is getting an english release next year.  It would be nice if they would publicise the light novel series too but that kinda thing isn't popular in the states.

Whenever the end comes, it'll be nice to have a break. It's a new animoo license every, like, 2 months or something. I wanna see if the ACTN block can sustain itself on reruns.

Or maybe I don't wanna see another Durarara premiere on Adult Swim. I went in fearing this would be a complicated show from it's nicheness to its not safe for TV-ness to... lots of other things. Did I hate it? Eh, kinda. Did I believe it shouldn't have gotten picked up? You bet. Did I like Simon? Sure did, but not enough. Was he my favorite character? Totally. Was he the reason I watched this show? Maybe...

But it was probably the weak tea and toast pacing towards the end that made me think "What the hell, it's not too much of a hassle to watch." It's like a casual game on your phone, or floss in your medicine cabinet. It's just something that's there to rock you to sleep by 1:00 AM.

There is one more next week. I've said before that I think it's a more fitting ending than this episode for quite a few reasons (you'll see).

And I hear you on watching shows you don't like. I'm currently watching Shana III and Guilty Crown. Despite the fact that I think they're bad shows and I don't really like them (and there is no "Simon" in any of them), I do watch them. I don't know why. It's like drugs for the eyes.

Remember, this whole fight between the gangs was an attempt to wake Celty's head.  Now that his plan was foiled, there isn't much he can do... until he comes up with another scheme.

Izaya tried to do something with it (that's what the entire Yellow Scarves arc was about). He failed because Horada is a loser who can't create any conflict (did anyone really think he could kill Shizuo?). And honestly, he didn't care. Yeah, Izaya is lame.

it's just she didn't really have much of anything to do...except talk to shinra
everything else was just unrelated to her and never really gave her a chance to do anything but act like a taxi cab driver

Like I said, think of her like Batman from the Tim Burton movies or the 90s animated series. While the Slasher arc and Yellow Scarves arc never focused on her directly, I think she did more than some of the characters those arcs focused on (especially Mikado). She was definitely key to solving the problems within each arc. With that said, maybe you'll like next week's episode.

I will say that it's disappointing that Shizuo got to perform all of the action and such, but Celty wasn't exactly shoved to the side. In addition to being the main character, she at least gets to have decent screen time with each arc, whilst the other characters' screen time depends on the arc (I think Izaya is the only other character who gets decent screen time in all three of the arcs).

Yeah, I forgot to say Batman, only without the fighting. And before you call me out on this, Batman does do transportation and detective work as well. Next episode, I can't promise you'll like it, but I honestly do think the series should have originally ended with it, even if it's not exactly story-related.
