Durarara!!

So whats up with this show? I hear all this talk about  a second season??? I thought as aired two seasons, it seemed like it was two seperate parts? And is this anime recent? because thats the only way I see a second season? Does the manga continue past the anime or did the anime differ from the manga?

the anime aired in japan last year(2010)
and from what i've heard the light novels are still going on
so we probably won't see a second season until the novels are finished
