Hey didn't mean to bump this (not sure if people on here frown apon it on here or not) but I just wanted to post in here just to say that Kida is the main reason I gave this show a second chance. I will be honest I wasn't too into it at first and didn't watch it much afterwards but I happened to catch it on again and it was one of his scenes and that alone made get into the series. He is adorable, energetic, funny, is very protective over the people he loves and is just overall is awesome! I must say after watching most of the series I was very surprised to see he had such a dark past considering how seemed so upbeat and happy during the beginning of the show. Even though I have never had anything that bad happen to me I can relate to him and I have become beyond obsessed with him.

He is interesting no doubt. One of the most energetic characters going around in this series.

Also, as far as him being so upbeat and happy, despite his past, he really seems to live off of his friends by make his friends happy and hanging out with them when he can, probably why when he's alone he is so down, as long as his friends are there he's fine. That's just the way I see it.

I know! It's so refreshing since most of the characters are either dark or shy to see one with so much energy.

Yeah I think that's what made his past so shocking. He seems like such a happy and energetic kind of dude and to see all that bad things that happened to him then is just sad and painful to watch.  He seems like such a confused kid overall though. He wanted to fit in and make up a gang for fun and then meets a really cute girl who is clearly in love with him but is beyond creepy the way she is obsessed with that twisted freak Izaya's info in which from that day on he has been messing with this kid's head from the advice to believing Saki was badly hurt and he was to blame.

I can understand how one who was once a free happy kid gets so easily depressed when he is alone. With all that went on for him at such a young age it has to be hard to cope with that every day but in turn it probably helped him mature in the long run. Nonetheless he is a strong kid for dealing with all he had to deal with and is still dealing with.

Yeah lol I bet if he could he would be at Mikado's house 24/7 haha.

Were you watching the Japanese or English version? I had the same experience when I was watching the series for the first time on crunchyroll. Kida's English VA is less than endearing though. :/

I'm implying that the only way Kida is endearing and adorable is in the Japanese version. In the English version, the voice actor is still pretty irritating.

 Ah see I've never seen the Japanese version of the show but I find his English version endearing and adorable. He's really the main reason I gave the show a second chance. I can somewhat identify with him out of all the characters on the show.

Tonight's ep proved why I love the kid so much. He can go from being a energetic, endearing, funny and adorable dude to a totally dark, bad dude that can kick some major ass when he wants to. He's my boy. We could hang.

Man this thread has been dead for near 4 months now. How sad. I thought for sure there were more fans of Masaomi than that here.
