Excellent news. I was worried that Adult Swim putting this show on a weeknight meant it didn't have much faith in it. But apparently their little experiment worked as the ratings have been very good. From the press release about the renewal: 

Eagleheart, which premiered Feb. 3 at midnight, was No. 1 in its time slot among adults/men 18-34 and 18-49, and it ranked as basic cable's No. 1 sitcom in the men 18-34 and men 18-49 demos.

I wonder if this will lead to Adult Swim premiering more original shows on weeknights.

Well they have moved the time of the premiere of Childrens Hospital Season 3 from June 5th (a Sunday) to June 2nd (a Thursday). I think Thursday is becoming the new live action premiere night.

There is a way to get "that smarmy douche" off your television - it's this magical device called a remote control, that allows you to change what you  view on your television - amazing, right?

As a male smack in the middle of the demographic, I heartily endorse the renewal of this show.  Not only do I enjoy watching the capering of Mr. Elliot, but I am also completely hypnotized by the cleft in Maria Thayer's chin, and have been ever since Strangers with Candy.  The boffins at Williams Street deserve a fat, sweaty thumb's up.

I personally am not in love with this show, however I am just as fascinated by Maria Thayer and her chin.

But you know me, I'm willing to give almost ANY show a chance until the end of season two.

Thanks old pal, nice to do the pop-in...Wanted to see if the old account was still active - Still have my ranking even though I've been bouncing around rival networks.  Huzzah.  I hope to be back on the swim someday with something; I liked it here.

I'm old enough to have grown up with Bob & Ray albums, so I loved Chris' dad; I was also a young hipster in the mid 80s when Chris was doing his thing on Letterman, so I've been fond of him for a long time, too.  And then, of course, Odenkirk wrote on Chris' show "Get a Life", which was a great if short-lived series and the topic of much discussion in the old days at T&E when Bob got trapped with us at the lunch table.

I enjoy anything silly, plain and simple, and this show fits the bill.  It definitely felt like it was gonna get stronger and sillier.  And more purposefully stupid, which also makes me very happy.  I love bad television and I love deliberately bad television.

On top of all that, I've been enjoying Tim Olyphant in FX's Justified, so Chris Elliot in pretty much the exact same role is a great counterpoint if you're watching both series.  The same way ice water tastes really good when you've been eating ice cream.

Probably later than sooner, although I just had a Weird Al video debut last week, so maybe the phone will start ringing off the hook with fantastic offers.  Actually, it is ringing off the hook with fantastic offers already, but it's always those people who want to 'lower the interest rate' on my 'account'.  (I think that's show biz lingo)  I'm most likely gonna wind up futzing around on another season of Yo Gabba Gabba this fall.
