What is NTR? Is that why they had the long black and white segment I hated? Yeah I didn't much care for this episode. I mean it left me confused through most of it and if I wanna see Ghirahim I'll play some Skyward Sword. The thing in the underground at the end was interesting though, kinda looked like the Nirvash from the first series even though that's supposed to be the one Ao is using...hmmm.....

Spoiler
Apparantely it could be theEND in the underground. That's probably what it is and could be cool if they actually go anywhere with it...

If you didn't know already, that goth-looking chick with the pink hair that ran into Truth early on in the episode is actually Elena. I had a feeling it would be, but it still surprised me once I found out. Just like my horoscope predicted.

Wait wut? Did I miss something? When did Elena become Mirror?

Tan skin, similar base color for the hair (although it could've been a wig), similar voice, and the fact that Miller (not Mirror) wasn't credited in the episode.

So, how 'bout that episode 8? Fleur is now one of my favorites. Well, more than she already was.

Definitely a good episode, I'm glad they gave us more depth on Fleur. Although, I was dying to learn more about what happened with Naru and Truth.

I'm definitely quite happy with the series so far, but I still feel like it's missing something that I can't put my finger on.

My favorite part of this week's episode was:

Spoiler
The part where Naru got kidnapped last week and they didn't do anything about it in this episode except introduce daddy issues :smileyhappy:

Spoiler
I hate when they do that in anime :smileyindifferent:

Yeah it felt like a weird side-tangent to me too. I really didn't care much for this episode, but it was alright I guess. I'm assuming Ao hates Renton because he abandoned him as an infant. I'd be shocked if he had any real memories of him or anything. Also, America being made out to be evil was strangely humorous. I wonder how some of the insults would sound in the dub if there ever is one.

It was strange how Ao didn't even mention it. At least I don't remember him saying anything about it, or even dwelling on it.

Why the fuuuuuudge does Ao hate Renton?

The most Ao did was try and take off after her but was promptly stopped. And as said, my guess why he hates Renton is he thinks he abandoned him as an infant....

So how about Episode 9?!

I'm still dying to know what's going on with Naru...especially now that Truth has made an appearance. He definitely has something up his sleeve, however. I can't help but love the music and animation like always, but I'm still not really finding myself growing attached to the characters like I was at this point in the original Eureka Seven series. I just really want the episodes to start building towards one cohesive plot instead of covering individual missions, but I guess that comes with time.

This, this, this! I really found this week, like the last 2 weeks, disappointingly boring. Why should I care what Ghirahim is up to, he feels so cliche up til now. I think I miss the Gekko crew and their various personalities the most though. Team Pied Piper just can't compare. As it is those three dudes are currently the most interesting characters. I really hope it picks up soon.

Yeah, I'm hoping it will pick up soon too. I'm just a bit worried seeing as its not written by Dai Soto and its based off of a manga this time around.

It's looking to me like they may be taking the approach of offering a glimpse of what exactly Generation Bleu does and their relation to the political conflict going on. Perhaps they're trying to really set up the environment before delving into the serious storyline of the show. I haven't touched the manga though, so I don't really know.

However, I feel like Truth is a much more generic antagonist than Dewey Novak. Overall, so far, AO seems like its following the typical anime guidelines more closely than the original series.

I'm trying really hard to like the series, but I feel like maybe it all just needs to grow on me.

Well Dewey was probably my favorite thing about the original series so I agree that Ghirahim can't compare. I too am really trying to like this series, but of all the anime currently airing in Japan I am currently watching it is my 3rd favorite at best so far...

Just watched the latest episode. Some thoughts:

--Elena is such a weeaboo :smileyvery-happy:
--Truth is a friggin badass! Seriously, I like him as the villain more and more every time I see him.
--Ao, how can you be mad when you got a front row view of DAT ASSx2?!

I'm guessing not. I think it's golden week or something, so there's specials and stuff on japanese tv.

Apparently it was because of soccer. dafuq.

Well, folks, the new episode is out. Ao really impressed me. It was a risky but clever plan.

Mentioned it in another thread, but there's pretty substantial revelations this episode, and overall, was probably the best in the series thus far.

Next week also looks to be a big one:

Director Kyoda's twitter says basically that "ep11 concludes the series of episodes which serve to expand the series, from here on out, we're entering into the thrashing waves".

It now seems that the plot can begin in earnest. Honestly, I've actually enjoyed the show quite a bit up to this point, though I've had mixed feelings about episodes 7 and 8, which were really uneven at best. Eureka Seven has been the superior show thus far, but I'm still holding out on the immense potential there is to be seen here.

Again, since you haven't seen 11 yet, I'd recommend just watching 11-12 in one sitting. Episode 11 really reinvigorated my interest towards this series, though, so I'd give these next two a shot before putting this one on hold.

I'll hope you think so; it provides much needed development for a particular character that many people found issue with.
