Interesting, I really like the first series, I own it on DVD, and have been meaning to see the movie but haven't yet. I'll definitely give this a try and consider this good news.

So it was officially announced that the story is set on Okinawa's isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao's mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao's 13-year-old childhood friend and the story's heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a "Yuta" power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young.

A mysterious entity called "Secret" suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. In his fervent desire to protect the island, Ao launches a certain military FP called "Nirvash" aboard a Japanese military transport.

The anime sequels features the return of the original anime's director, several mechanical designers, art director, color stylist, visual effects director, and director of photography. The first anime's character designer Kenichi Yoshida and main mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori are also credited for "key character designs" and "Nirvash designs," respectively.

I could see their point of view considering from what I've heard the story has nothing to do with E7 besides the two main characters.

This frightens me. Please don't be like the movie. Please don't be like the movie.

I don't know if it's relevant at all, but I've seen Dai Sato at an anime con for the last two years (most recently this past September), and he never mentioned being involved with anything Eureka-related. He mostly talked about how nobody will let him work on new anime projects anymore because they're so worried about making money, so he's been developing video games and worked on a Tekken movie.

I think they will be, as Ao's parents.

Everything kinda indicates they would be, I'd be surprised if they weren't.

When I see the name "Ao," my initial reaction is to think of it as "ay-OH." Just saying.

I'm Inclined to agree. Why call it Eureka Seven AO with no EUREKA in it?! i'm willing to bet that AO's Parents are Renton and Eureka, and his friend Naru's parents are Holland and Talho. but we'll see when the show unfolds.

i seriously hope that they don't screw this up, i heard a lot of mixed reviews about the movie and i loved the original. They're gonna be hard-pressed to do it justice........

Just to let everyone know, this happened about 28 minutes ago.

It seems the possibility of it airing may be higher than it was before?
