It's 2011 get a better sense of humor, or grow up. Everyone is cut on at one time or another. Fats, Blacks, Midgets, Giants. Stereotypical and racial jokes are made to laugh at the differences instead of taking them seriously and that is why they are jokes.

You don't hear me whining about Native American jokes on shows. Like you said it's 2011, so get past it. Slavery has been done for a long time now, it's in the past being overly serious and sensitive isn't going to change it. By the way we are all your people we originate from Africa as far as we know. I think people that act like you do about this topic is why there are still lines in the sand so to speak, if we stopped all this 'my people' talk and black pride talk maybe those lines would go away.

family guy makes adult swim. its the best show they have on there. the jokes are funny and the story lines are quite reasonable. dont complain on that badass show,

I agree some of the jokes are "racist" against blacks but there are also jokes that are "racist" against, whites, Mexicans, Jews, Christians, Hindus, and pretty much everything else under the sun. I feel like you need to get off your pedestal and quit hating on one of the best shows in the past 20 years

thank god there are other people who see family guy for the poorly written load of donkey **QWOP** it is. swim needs to take it, and american dad off the channel. with so many great, clever and original shows adult swim has, they choose to show this crap 50 times a night. those slots could go to better shows. i understand fam guy brings the ratings but taking the early time slots could be depriving swims original shows of new fans that cant stay up until 2 in the morning. in short, leave fam guy to the other 10 channels its on and bring more diversity to the nighly line up with as originals.

I've seen this show since its first episode and I can recall the times when people would reference it and it would be funny to recall a part from the show.  But, watching this show progress for years up to now.  I have got to say - Family Guy is the worst show on the Adult Swim block and I will certainly be glad when it's off the [AS] program. 

Family Guy could not be more racist.  And I'm not talking about having numerous racist jokes in one episode - but if you're going to be racist, be funny about it.  Who are the writers for their black jokes? Michael Richards?  It's not even funny, it's just straight up offensive.   A show like South Park is racist, too, but at least it has character.  If you analyze the Family Guy show, you will notice that every single main character in the show has made a deragatory remark in reference to a particular race, religion, or stereotype.  So,  when I'm watching a sketch - it's a sketch all of the writers feel about in a certain topic.  I might as well just dismiss the show altogether.  Like that episode where Brian comes out as an atheist and the end of the episode makes the point where everyone wastes time and violence over disputes on religion.  So, here's what the symbolism points: be an atheist, it would solve things.

Is this what television offers? I have got to say - what balls these writers have to make this show go on with the material they write.  I'll save my brain cells.  This show is overrated.  And for it to be overrated, I guess Americans have alot to learn from. 

And I tried American Dad.  The humor might imo be better than Family Guy... all "American Dad" is is "Family Guy" with different characters.  Peter's alittle smarter and a CIA agent, and Stewie is an alien.  Everyone else will have cosmetic changes as well. 

I used to love Adult Swim.  But, I dunno anymore.  They can keep their ratings.  It'll just be one less while this show is on.  At least, Comedy Central barely disappoints.  And since Seth McFarlane is the creator of the show, then here's a clue I have about who he is according to his show: he's a racist and atheistic diva.  I think I hit somewhere.  Opinions can be powerful impact to others, and his cast of writers including himself are doing good people pleasing.  I'm through.

If you notice the black characters are drawn with the same skin tone and hair texture reinforcing the steryotype that all black people are the same. When you see someone overweight is it really funny that they are obese and are slowly killing themselves? Look at what you are laughing at. Yes slavery has been over a long time. BUT when you live in the South like I do you see that some people don't want it to be that way (YES SAD I KNOW). Then you have some people who believe the steryotypes because they don't get to know anyone of that race on a personal level. Their knowledge of that group of people doesnt expand beyond them saying "Oh I have a ______(black, asian, latino) friend.

Adult Swim has nothing to do with the show other than giving ppl what they want (i..e.. Family Guy). Seth MacFarland controls what content is in the show. Tweet him (if hes on Twitter, but I doubt that) Good luck, but as noted, South Park does it, too.

I'm also going to do a shout out to all of the self-entitled black folk who think that the concept of slavery is exclusive and primary to their situation 100+ years ago.

Slavery still exists all over the world. And it's perfectly viable to make fun of black slavery because, well, the United States:

• Endorsed it.
• Had a war over it.
• Changed their minds about it.
• Ended it.

Your specific historial problem is over. You never even had to deal with it yourself. It is hilarious that something so morbid was a country-wide commodity akin to owning a pet.

Want to get pissed off over real slavery? Check into the human trafficking situations all around the world due to organized crime regiments transporting women and children.

You might want to lay off the Family Guy dribble and watch a few episodes of Law & Order: SVU.

I suppose it's just a matter of personal taste, I find King Of The Hill to be my favorite program of the AS block these days, even though I frequently miss it due to it's fairly early timeslot. I have watched Family guy, since it's premiere during the '99 Superbowl, and I've genrally enjoyed most of the episodes in it's run, save for the recent dark turn. I notice that people bring up the same basic complaints when discussing the show, overuse of; non-sequitors, cut-away gags, and shock comedy. The only problem with this, is not that someone may not like these aspects of the show, but that they just point out these recurring elements and demand it be changed. It's like complaining about how The Simpsons just relies on humor based around people wih low intellect or lampooning society, it simply shows that the individual stating this simply doesn't enjoy that type of humor. In short, some people like non-sequitors and cut-away gags.
