So I'm watching an interview with Seth MacFarlane on CNN and he's talking about getting an angry call from Jon Stewart about a Family Guy joke during the writers strike.  Does anyone know what the joke was?

I'm trying to think, I saw that interview with Piers Morgan and Seth. It was more or so Seth being on the side of the writers when they were on a strike, whereas Stewart decided against it and carried on with his show. 

"There was a joke on “Family Guy” back during theWriters Guild strike of 2007-2008 making fun of Jon Stewart for continuing to produce shows instead of honoring the strike. After that happened, Jon Stewart personally called Seth MacFarlane up and bitched to him about it for an hour. "

In the meantime, there's no footage online of the joke that tipped Stewart overboard in order to rant to MacFarlane.

I think it's because all the writers kind of had an unspoken agreement not to continue writing during the strike. But Stewart's not just a writer. He's a performer and a producer. So, he probably felt obligated to continue making shows without the use of his writing staff. But as a comedian, he's also a writer himself. 

So, I kind of see both sides of the argument. Would be cool to see the actual joke though.

But was it a cut away in one of Seth's shows or was it just a joke being passed around the picket line?

I don't know. There is no footage available. People have been guessing at possibilities. But they're all pretty obscure. I can't imagine Jon Stewart getting that pissed just because Mort said he was their most important Jew. If it was something McFarlane just said, no one has footage of it. People have been looking for this since that interview aired almost 2 months ago.

To be honest, I don't think they're going to really put the joke out there that fuelled the argument. It's most likely been removed to prevent future spats, if any.
