Naota Nandaba
First Appearance: Episode 1 (Fooly Cooly)
Portrayed By: Barbara Goodson
Naota is a very mature, level headed 12 year old boy who lives in the "boring" town of Mabase. He's tries To be nonchalant, but finds difficulty in doing so because of all the strange events that happen. He tries To model himself after his brother, but still doesn't like being compared To him. He hates any thing spicy or sour.
At the start of the series, he lived a normal life and had what seemed like a girlfriend: his brother's ex Mamimi. However things soon changed very drastically when Haruko Haruhara came To Mabase. She ran Naota over and then hit him in the head with her bass. From then his life changed permanently. He had the "right kind of head", which turned out To mean that he had enough "N.O." To channel certain items across galaxies in an instant. This usually took form of a "Medical Mechanica Robot" coming through and wreaking havoc. Some of these medical mechanica were the size of large buildings, and they came right from his head.
After a robot comes through his head, it's usually up To Haruko To stop them. And, after the first episode, one of the robots, named Canti, could "swallow" Naota so Naota can help in the battle. It's revealed that the power that Naota has in Canti is directly from Atomsk, and space pirate with enough N.O. To transport entire galaxies. And Haruko wants his power.
Throughout the series: Naota falls for Haruko, Naota helps defeat the medical machanica, Naota gains atomsks power and Haruko tries To gain it, Atomsk is released, and Haruko leaves Naota behind.

Character: Haruhara Haruko is a very energetic character. She has pink hair and is from outer space. She is also and investigator for the Galactic Space Patrol Brotherhood/Stellar Fraternity. She is violent, unpredictable, and very hyper. She acts friendly and random but it is only a "mask" to hide her true nature. Her actual goal is to take Atomsk's power. She tries to get Naota to help her, but in the end it backfires. In the, the boy has deep feelings for Haruko and ends up kissing her. They then go their separate ways.
Commander Amarao
First appearance: Episode 4 (Full Swing)
Portrayed By: Dave Mallow
Amarao is a man in his mid twenties to early thirties who works for the Bureau of Intersteller Immigration. He seems romantically interested in his subordinant Kitsurubami, who does not return any feelings.
He first appears to main character Naota to question him about Haruko. It is later revealed that he has some sort of past relationship with Haruko, who he calls "Rarahu". He has the ability to summon things through his forehead using NO, however the bass he summons is small and Haruko commented this was normal for him. Amarao is jealous of the relationship Naota and Haruko have and it's suggested that Amarao was once in the same shoes Naota is in. Amarao wears fake eyebrows that he believes blocks off NO; the eyebrows serve as a running gag in his character as they fall off often. In the end of the series, he tries to stop Haruko from summoning Atomsk but fails and most likely returns to his normal life after Haruko leaves Earth.
