I remember when I was a kid and my mom didn't get this show and told me not to watch it ( watched them all anyway.)

But what was the reason you like this anime so much?

I love how it can have such trippy action scene while still having crazy funny humor and every episode had the same aesthetics through the who show

aesthetics for all the people who looked up the meaning like I did means: The same qualities and feel in everything like the scenery and all that junk.

For me, it was definitely the music. The Pillows really make the series what it is. Not to say the story and characters aren't amazing as well, I just think the music is what really brings it all together.

I think it was more of the undertones that got me

the fact that it's all zainy and crazy doesnt detract from moments of seriousness or subtle emotions

like, mamimi for example, she's childlike at times, while at other times she seems so torn...

i really love how dynamic all the characters are

The serious moments, whether subtle or not balance out really well with all the fun crazy stuff too

I really like the fact that this ia a parody of anime. You can look at each ep and see the things that they're parodying to perfection. And this is BEFORE Perfect Hair Forever!

And this probably has the coolest theme song of any anime.

Naota and Haruko  love/hate realtioship, that guy with the bushy eyebrows and of course the music

 I love FLCL because it strikes an emotional chord with me. The first time I watched the show I found myself crying at various parts without knowing exactly why, something about the scenes and the music together  made me feel intense. Here are some parts which have caused me to tear up:  Mamimi discovers Canti and watches him float in the sky ;  Ninamori , referring to her glasses, says "they're fake" ;  Naota finally swings the bat ; Atomosk emerges from Naota's head ; and the very quick scene which shows Mamimi walking in an alley-way with a large terminal core behind her. I still don't know why the show affects me so deeply but because it does I love it.

the aura that it created. some moments it created a sense of hopelessness, and other a sense of creative freedom. the story was unique to the situations that the characters were in. thus making it a hit.

The fact that no matter how many times I go back and watch it, Ill find new meanings and gain a new view on , Its just such a strange, hypnotic show.

I first liked it because in high school, I was the the kid in the anime. I just instantly connected with him in a "holy **noel** that's me!" kind of way. I'm quite different personality-wise now, but at the time, it was like I'd just realized who I was.

I didn't get into this serious until I watched it online (I couldn't wait for one of AS' reruns).  I think what initially grabbed me was the ridiculous humor and light-hearted nature of the show.  I really enjoyed watching something that wasn't overly serious and filled with typical anime conventions that took themselves seriously.

Once I got past the humor what was left was a sweet story of a boy coming into his own, thanks to a space pirate, generally aloof friends, and an incompetent goverment agency.  That's what I took away from the show, and what resonated with me as I was (and still am) going through much of the same general experiences.

Note: The word "General" omits the presence of awesome robots and sexy space pirates.

So much symbolism in the show if you really get in deep. The music and the art were so amazing when I first saw this series. <333 Everything about it.

Younger me

I liked the weirdness and humor of the show and it made me feel grown-up with all of the 'coming of age' elements.

Same reasons but I liked that everytime I watch it I learn something new about the show and a little about myself.

I'm over the 'coming of age' stuff. I AM A MAN! *punch* but the weirdness and humor is still good.

The fact that when I remember the first times I saw the show I was doing fun **noel** with my friends with it on in the background.

I also really like the visuals and the narrative style. Like how they sound all dramatic when describing things that I don't really understand.

The chicks are hot also.

I have it on Blu-Ray and love watching it cause it looks so **noel** good (the artwork)

Its a 6 episode adventure, every second of it is entertaining. The animation is amazing, the music is awesome, and it really plays to my teen angst. (no but rly)

I've always loved this show, and than I showed it to my friends who are anime fans, and they did'nt like it.....fuuuuuudge them.

Nothing makes me love this anime.  IMO it is garbage and should be removed in favor of something better.  AT 6 episodes it replays ofter, and is just B.S.

I wouldn't say I love this show. It took a few viewings of each episode for me to appreciate it.. I really like how it has a psychadelic element to it mixed with some scifi. Like a shroom placebo.. Definitely a very unique show.

FLCL is the only show that I think warranted the price I paid for 3 DVDs at $30 retail.  I love this show.  I don't remember what age I was when I first came across this show, but it was before I had any interest in anime at all.  I was so "surprised" i guess by what I watched that its hard to say what my first thoughts where by this show.  I didn't know what anime was at the time but what I saw was burned into my brain.  It has that 'it" factor for me.
