welcome to the flcl board

as you can see, I moved a buncha threads in here.  If I missed yours and you want me to move it in, leave a link and I'll do that.

But feel free to hang out, post an ep discussion for tonight's episode, and just make the place feel like home and stuff.

I still have this old thread buried in my bookmarks; it's a great drawn-out essay on a lot of the symbolism in the show that would be handy to have in here.

Thanks. I'm glad that there is a FLCL folder now. It should help us out quite a bit.

Cool this thread is back :smileyhappy:

Pretty sweet to finally get a FLCL board. So how are helpers usually chosen?

Somehow I don't think a helper is really needed for a temp folder.... I'm sure helpers from dead, cycled out folders could just move over.

That's because you can only do one search at a time, and the threads appear on the list as "new".

so when moving threads into a new folder, they end up all having similar names unless you literally do it one tiny thread at a time using alternate searches, which takes way more time than I have, so I just did a couple searches for each new board and moved a couple pages of threads in.

Which - Flcl had gigantic threads.  So there ended up being way more posts in this folder to begin.

I don't think any of the new show folders have any Helpers yet officially. (China, Tom, Oblongs, Flcl)

couple different ways.  Sometimes we'll hang back and watch a folder and see who's posting, other times we'll see a user that exhibits some skillz (helpfulness, show knowledge, artsyness or something) and, if they're an obvious fan of a certain show, we might ask them.  Also people can volunteer, in which case we look at their tracker and posting history and stuff and discuss it and look at what folders are open and stuff like that.

The outcycled folders are still open for posting and Helpers can still be (and are prolly) still active in those folders.  Also all outcycled folders will eventually be on the board again.  Also all folders that get a regular bit of traffic for the week (not a huge amount even, just a bit) will stay on the board.

So it's conceivable all new folders will remain into November just based on traffic, or because they are still airing.

I know they're still accessible and the helpers will still post there, but... the general idea is that the folders cycled out are lighter on traffic. So I'd imagine there wouldn't be a WHOLE lot for a helper to do in that folder.

Just seem like if their folder is really slow they could just help out with the new ones. I don't see much point in making a million helper positions when most of the folders are dead anyways. That's my two cents at least.

I have passed along everybody's interest to the proper authorities.

I'm not actually sure when/if they'll get around to making some more helpers though.
