welcome to the [adult swim] Programarama Elimination/Programming Game Thread
extravaganzathon from hell of doom.

first one ever.

rules:

the game will include ALL (every single one) show, one-shot, pilot, bump series, and web series that Adult Swim has ever aired either on the network or on the website that I am aware of.

You can vote each hour, meaning you can vote once between 6:00PM and 6:59PM, and once between 7:00PM and 7:59 PM etc.

So you can vote, for example at 4:59 PM and again at 5:01 PM.  But you cannot vote at 3:07 PM and again at 3:58 PM

Each time you post you may post two votes.  They can't be for the same show.  IE, you can't vote +2 for one show or -2 for one show.  Your two votes have to be for different shows.  Also you may not cast double minus votes.  Your post must have at least one
"+" vote to be valid.

You may also vote for an acquisition.  IE a show that has never aired on Adult Swim, but you wish to acquire for the block.   A show is considered "acquired" when it reaches 100 votes.  You may suggest Movies as well as shows.

Votes will be tallied the morning after a round has reached page 5, at which point it will move on to the next folder.

When a show dips far enough below other shows, it will be eliminated from the schedule.

Folder Immunity: The folder in which the traveling game is currently taking place is considered immune from negative votes.

Also note there are twists to the game that will reveal themselves


Additional notes:

If a movie makes the schedule, it is considered a slot of "adult swim movies" and all movies on the list will be cycled in that slot with priority given to the highest rated.

If a bump series makes the schedule it is considered to have been made into an 11 minute show.

This Adult Swim channel takes place in a fantasy world in which every show ever to have aired on Adult Swim is still within the realm of possibility to air on the block.

also for those who enjoy the programming manifestation of the vote, you will now see that in the OP.

for those who are into the elim aspects, the running point tally will also be included.

the 200 ceiling is going away because couldn't consolidate it in terms of - like as shows become maxed out, we'd end up with more and more "ties" for the #1 programming slot.

So there is no longer a 200 point ceiling.

The basic gist of the schedule version of the vote is this:

If you want to see something move up the schedule or appear more on the schedule, vote it a "+", if you want to see it move down the schedule (basically later in the schedule) or off the schedule vote it a "-"

That pair of guys are responsible for the decline of actual good programming in [adult swim]. Their shows are terrible, unfunny, they have no talent and Mike Lazzo should be ashamed to allow such a show on this network. PeeWee's Playhouse had more entertainment value than all the quack shows Tim & Eric have placed on this network COMBINED!

Is there an ending to this you have in mind? Or are we gonna just go on forever? Or is that one of your "twists" to be revealed later?

I think there are a lot of people who not only disagree, but have almost the exact opposite view.

I personally would consider Tim & Eric to be one of the central creative pillars of the block and one of the cores of life to the point where, I think without Tim & Eric, it would be like the block was losing a limb.

That's also kind of one of the reasons I want to get away from the elim type focus.

It's fun to play the "+/-" mindless type games, it's fun for me to see the schedule actually manifest change based on the votes and stuff.  It's interesting for me to see what other people vote for like and dislike.

But no fun is having to defend a show and then have to also read posts of the nature that you just posted.

It's not against the rules or anything, you're welcome to your opinion but - it just makes me have less fun, which is kinda what I want to do when playing a game.

I do however, think it would be cool to have more discourse in general (even debateish type conversation) though it could bog the vote count down a bit.  I might try to introduce a side thread for conversation of that nature.

well, considering how long it would take an actual elim to work its way through ALL the shows on the list, it would be pretty open ended anyway.

but for the sake of like - those who want that, I'll still keep track of the point spread.

So yeah, shows can still be voted down to '0' and we can even track like, for example even if PJs were somehow to gain more votes/points, we kinda technically know it was already eliminated from the elim part of the game.

So people who want to can still track that.

But if you consider all this +1 show a, -1 show a, +1 show a, -1 show a type stuff, you know, even a regular elim could go on forever.

This sort of adds an ongoing element to it that I think people can walk away from and come back to.  People can jump in on it and still enjoy themselves.  It's sort of ongoing, but still can track as an elim.

So basically made it kind of something people could take either thing from.  It can be tracked as a finite elim, but also it will continue as a programming game.

PJs is gone from the elim, but still retains the possibility of reappearing in the programming portion of the game.

Also technically the "acquisitions" won't join the elim really.  They'll only appear on the schedule part of the game.

And basically even once the elim part is over, the programming part can continue, but - you know, again, it would take a loooooong time for an elim to be over with this many shows anyway prolly.

another thing I noticed is that there are a lot of people that don't seem to like to cast "-" votes.  And a few that are like, that's all they wanna do.

So, this kind of gives both mindsets something to do.

The "-" crowd can aim at eliminating, the "+" crowd can aim at building a cool schedule with the shows they like etc.

I dunno about that, Luuv, I'm seeing more minus votes for T&E than plus.
I'd have to think the only reason it's above 100 right now is the fact that this is your game, you're + for it, and have invested more time with this game than others.

All told, it's only +5 points from it's starting point according to the totals in the OP.
Reguardless of your opinion on the show, my vote remains...

Am I hater and possibly a bit beligerant as far as their show goes? Definatly.
Then again, if their show wasn't so bad, I'd have nothing to say.
Frankly, I'd find a better viewing value in a silent comedy about a family of toe fungus living between the toes of an octogenarian living in Florida by the beach.
