FMA or FMA:B Music?

Personally, I preferred the OST of the original series over Brotherhood.  Brotherhood's just seemed so...forgettable.  Not bad.  Just nothing to write home about.

As for the openings, I really liked 3 out of 4 of the originals and 4 out of 5 for Brotherhood.  So I'd say opening songs are around the same.  I never care for ending songs for anime; they're always too soft and quiet and etc.

I was just looking forward to adding FMA:B's OST soundtracks to my library but I'll pass.  It's just not worth it.

These tracks are forgettable?

And "soft and quiet ending songs" - you mean like this one?

See, I think it's the complete opposite. Out of FMA's entire soundtrack, I can only remember the main Brothers theme and Dante's theme.

I don't know what's real from the noise, the noise.
I can't hear a thing for the noise, the noise.
I wouldn't do anything, the thunder that throws me away.
I wouldn't do anything, there's something that keeps me away.
I wouldn't do anything, something that begs me to stay.
I wouldn't do anything, something that throws me away.

Half of those, yeah.

I knew you'd choose Shunkan Sentimental before I even clicked on it.  Yes, that's a very good ending song.  But that's the only one.  Getting 1 out of 5 isn't a good score.

There are always exceptions to the rule.  But you shouldn't hold up those rare exceptions to laud the forgettable masses.

Okay, so then what are great, memorable tracks from the first series soundtrack other than "Brothers"?

(Oh, and the last link should have been "To Be King" but instead I listed Trisha's Lullaby twice by accident)

I would have to go with the music from the 1st series as well.  The only two that I really like from FMA:B is Period & Shunkan Sentimental, both are extremely awesome.  Ready, Steady Go is my absolute favorite from the 1st, but the ones that followed were great as well.  Plus I liked the background music from the 1st as well.  But on both series I didn't like opening #1 on either.

Personally Yui-Again is my favorite opening, followed by L'arc en Ciel-Ready, Set, Go. The rest I could care less about. The best ending song ever is Scandal- Shunkan Sentimental

Again, this is just my opinion; there are ones in the 1st series that people like that I don't.  I'm assuming vice-versa is going to occur.  I'll only list a few: Conquest, Invasion, and Marching Army.

Yeah, I noticed that.  To Be King is better.

I think Rewrite is an instant classic.  Ready, Steady, Go is almost right up there.  Undo took me a while, but it grew on me.

Again, Hologram, and Period were great, though Hologram and Period more so.  Golden Time Lover was OK, and the last song who's name I never borhterd to learn, well...

The only ending I liked out both the series was Shunkan Sentimental.

One thing that ALWAYS irked me about the music in FMA:B is how a sad heavy orchestral piece would be so awkwardly juxtaposed with an annoyingly "poppy" ending theme. Totally threw me off and really killed the atmosphere built up.

FMA did this a good lot better imo.

As much as I detested a variety of things in BH, I must admit the music was great. Over all much more powerful than the original series.
