Would the first anime Sloth be really powerful in the Brotherhood universe?
Let's assume that instead of "The Fastest Honunculus"Sloth, Father made "Liquid" Sloth instead.
How would she be combated in this universe? Now, this Sloth is still just like in the original anime; the only difference is that she is powered by a Philosopher's Stone instead of Red stones.
Sloth is made out of water. This means that she can't be hurt by bullets which we saw in the first anime. Let's see the other homunculi.
Lust: We saw Lust attack Sloth in the first anime. Lust was able to pierce and slash Sloth but because Sloth is made out of water, Lust couldn't literally damage Sloth. During this point, Sloth vomited all her red stones out meaning she had 1 life left, her own, and Lust couldn't kill her.
Gluttony: Well, he could swallow her up, I suppose. But he's the weakest homunculus, and everybody can kick his butt. So no problems for Sloth.
Envy: Well, he could squish her. But she's made out of water. So like with Lust, Envy can't damage Sloth.
Greed: Same thing. He can Ultimate Shield claw her, but no damage to Sloth.
Wrath: Same as Lust. Wrath can slice and slash Sloth all he wants, but she's made out of water.
Pride: Can his shadows eat, or should I say, drink Sloth? His shadows can't really hurt Sloth.
It seems that none of the homunculi can effectively damage Sloth. At best, they can disturb her form, and being made out of water, she can just reform herself and that won't use up any energy of her Philosopher's stone. Only Gluttony has a chance to defeat Sloth.
I suppose this is because Sloth is entirely made out of a different state of matter. The rest of the homunculi are Solid, while Sloth is Liquid. You can't hurt a liquid.
Now for the alchemists, we know how Edward originally defeated Sloth. He turned her into ethanol and she evaporated into the air. But would this possible in the Brotherhood universe? If Ed accomplishes this, wouldn't Sloth's Philosopher Stone just heal and make a new liquid body? After all, like with Lust, Sloth's philosopher stone would be her core.
Alphonse would face the same problems as Edward since they are pretty equal in alchemy. Although, Alphonse should technically know more than Edward since he saw more of Truth, but that never went up to anything in Brotherhood, so I suppose, this point is moot.
Roy Mustang can burn Sloth with his flames. But Hawkeye, in the first anime, said that Sloth is made out of water so Roy's flame alchemy is useless against her. So, Mustang is out.
Scar, May Cheng, Izumi, Armstrong would face similar problems like Edward and Alphonse.
Dr. Marcoh might be able to destroy Sloth's Philosopher's Stone. He's good.
Overall, it seems Sloth would be extremely difficult to damage in the Brotherhood Universe. It seems that on the homunculus side, that only Gluttony can beat Sloth, but since Gluttony fails a lot, Sloth would win first.
On the good guy side, Dr. Marcoh can oneshot her like with Envy.
Yep. It seems only Dr. Marcoh has the best and possibly only attack that can defeat Liquid Sloth.
Wow!!! First Anime Sloth would be a beast in the Brotherhood Universe.
Your thoughts?

I guess first series Sloth really doesn't belong in the brotherhood universe huh? I wonder though, since her only abilities seem liquid based, what would she do if any decent alchemist trapped her inside say a giant steel box kinda like how Pride was trapped only not as big and made of steel...would she effectively be trapped for all eternity?

Yeah, Sloth is an the odd one out in the Brotherhood Universe.
Unless, she can just turn herself into water and seep through the "cracks" in the steel box, she would be trapped for eternity.
But then again, that is not actually hurting Sloth.
Can Sloth be damaged?

Unless he turned her into hydrogen and blew her up.

What if there were no cracks? What if said box was thrown into the middle of a giant lava pool, would she merely evaporate and fly away only to reform later? She really doesn't belong...

I already answered if there were no cracks.
Lava pool is not a person hurting Sloth.
Can anybody besides Dr. Marcoh defeat Sloth?

Anyone can trap her in the box and use the lava pool, any good alchemist that is and I think you knew that's what I meant...
Also Father eats her...
EDIT: ah crap, I got swimbinary with this post, if I post anymore I'll lose it![]()

You mean Father "drinks" her?
Yep, it seems Liquid Sloth is almost on par with Super Pride.

What I wonder though is how the philosopher's stone core works with her I mean does it turn to water too? It doesn't seem like it should I mean Lust's stone remained even after her body was burned away...that would give a potential way of killing her kinda like how Kurama defeats Genbu in Yu Yu Hakusho or how you fight the Water Temple boss in Ocarina of Time. Let's say Father blows away her liquid body, what is to stop him from grabbing the philosopher's stone and eating it via his hand really quickly like he does in the show when he steals those two soldier's souls near the end?

I guess the Philosopher's stone would be liquid as well. It has been shown that the stone comes in many different forms.
Father can't just eat a Philosopher's stone like that. With the soldiers, Father took their souls and converted it into a Philosopher's stone.
Since Sloth's philosopher's stone is already made, Father can't just move the stone into him. Father has to first make her Philosopher's stone go into a cup.
Boy, You're right. Liquid Sloth doesn't really belong in the Brotherhood Universe. Too many variables!!!
Still, Father would be the only bad guy capable of defeating her. Dr. Marcoh for the good guys.
Super Pride pwns all though. (Except maybe Father).
Super Pride rules!!!! And to a lesser extent, Liquid Sloth rules!!!!

Even if it was liquid wouldn't it just be a liquid philosopher's stone? I'd have a hard time believing it would change into water too, but if it did let Father guzzle down all the water, really shouldn't be a problem...

It might be able to.
Heck, we never even saw Pride's Philosopher's stone.
Pride's true form is the shadows, so........ where is his stone?
I suppose his stone is in the shadows somewhere.![]()

Because then Sloth would just reform and do the same as Lust. Except Sloth would just go inside Mustang and drown him.
Blowing up wouldn't hurt Sloth because she is not a solid. The room with Lust was wet with water after the explosion.
All the explosion would do is just disrupt her form and scatter her everywhere.
Since a liquid or a gas can't get hurt, that attack wouldn't do anything.

But Pride in Brotherhood is not like Sloth in the first FMA for one really big reason:

You don't have to hide spoilers. This board is dead. Almost nobody comes here.
But, yeah. That is what I figured about Pride.
And Mustang can't just turn Sloth into hydrogen and blow her up over and over. If he does, he'll end up killing himself with the explosion.

I could see Sloth from the 1st series being able to have some roles outside the battlefield though with all the action and fights going on, she'd have to be wise in order to not get crushed or killed easily. Then again, she could be unpredictable when it comes to her powers because she's actually
