Mobile Armoured Riot Police: Superintenadant Haruka Shitow (Rahxephon) has created a Unit called Mobile Armoured Riot Police or MARP. later know as Section 1  (Consist os Sato,Takagi,Chiba,Yumi, Ryoji Kaji, (Evangelion) and Shingo Tsukino.) Now that cyberbrains are common place. Since Noah's Ark, someone had sent a virus to a high school killing several of students. So the unit has to stop the virus.

Okay - status on Chat: Is being moved to sometime next week. With Ran partying Sunday night and Knightus is gonna be gone for a day or two, and well we can't do this without our VP, so it is tentatively set for TUESDAY or WED. of next week. (8 PM Pacific time, 11 AM Eastern)

But please say which date is best for you! I hate hearing whenever is fine. People say that in real life and it never happens. It's probably the same online.

I don't think we'll be deleted with the board changes. We really are on topic a lot. In fact, lets start to everyday re-touching on a topic of the manga. Going forward chronologically.

First one:

This next manga volume will include The Introduction and Demise of the Black Org member Tequila (just shuddered at what his name will be changed to... *><*) Now when I first read this one and then later saw the anime version. I was intrigued by Kogoro's bout of a hangover. Usually he never has any (but that would then imply that he starts solving cases drunk). Now if he was so hungover how could he have the sense to say the comment in the english dub of "96! that's almost my favorite number." And so cheery too.

And Conan, sometimes you'd honestly think he looks down at Ran (when she gets the #100 he says "how simple-minded"). The jerk... he's so lucky he redeems himself easy.

Well, not in FUNi's dub, I think (haven't watched it yet); VIZ, however, made some screwy name changes with the B.O. members.  In Volume 4, when Conan first learned the names of Gin and Vodka, Viz changed them to Kaspar and Melkior--a.k.a. traditional names of two of the three Christmas magi.  (As a devout Christian, btw, I'm not exactly tickled pink with that choice.)

This will totally mess up the many later references to the B.O.'s alcoholic code names--and it makes no sense.  The manga is already rated "T+" (for older teens), according to Viz's system, for its graphic violence.  There's no need to censor these names.  And if they didn't do it for censorship, why did they do it?  All the names Viz had changed so far accorded with FUNi's main character name changes; in fact, Viz made a point of preserving the minor characters' Japanese names whenever possible, including Akemi Miyano.

So, dearest crimson, what exactly did they change Tequila's name to?  I'd really like to know.  Sorta.

1) Do you mean 11 PM Eastern?  The dates are fine, and if I had to, I could make it at 11PM, but it's a little late for a work night (which I'll finally have!  w00t!).

2) Thanks for the compliment!  Someone on LJ posted that Shiho's feet looked "a little flat"!  Nani?!

3) Manga topics are good for the thread!  Could we start with Volume 11, though?  It's been awhile since I read the Game Company case, and it'd be great to go over Eri's/Eva's intro, even though we've all seen it in the anime.  In fact, based on her introduction, it's a good thing that little Shin'ichi wasn't with Ran in the latest file!

But based on your comments above, I'd say that Kogorou's oddly resilient.  When Ran and Conan beat him up during the Night Baron case, his bumps and bruises went away in the space of a few panels!  And Ran . . . she's not nearly as bad about superstition as Kazuha, but since Conan's so diehard about pure logic, well, I can understand his reaction. ^^*

And yeah Ran-chan I meant 11PM (see me typing at night - not so good.) But we can make it at 10PM (7PM Pacific) if we need to.

I think starting at 10 would be better- it gives us an extra hour beforehand.

@Ran: They were never good at changing the names anyway... =X [what was Ai's dub name? I can't remember... it's probobly on a later DVD, but I'm way behind.]
