It's hard to believe that young, humble monk and the smelly old man could be the same person. Really shows that the writers were able to change a character so dramatically, and still make it believable, even if it had been 40 years.

Awwww...probably the only way to properly describe this episode. ^_^
Sakuya, was, as I expected, not exactly what most people probably expected of her. A bubbly energetic girl gushing about her first love. ^_^ Still, she was a really great character to finally meet, a nice contrast from Eureka and Anenome. Which brings me to my first point: She seemed, actually, to be a combination of Eureka and Anemone. She had Anemone's energetic nature and Eureka's pure heart. Again, we're not sure at this point if Anemone is even an actual Corallian, but I'm wondering if, added to the fact that she had compac drives in her, she was the more complete corallian? Here's what I think: Sakuya was the only humanoid coralian that was formed specifically by the scub coral. It was said that Eureka was found by the military: Either A) the military was the one's who initiated the sequences of events that would create Eureka (an experiment that the scubs used for their own ends) or B) The military stumbled upon Eureka's formation and, obviously, interupted it so they could study her. Either way, Eureka was complete enough for the scub coral's purposes, but not as complete as Sakuya. And then, Anemone might have been the result of the artificial creation of humanoid corallian without the aid of the scubs, and, obviously, she was much less stable than Eureka or Sakuya. However, my theory could really use some helpful information...like maybe showing us how exactly Sakuya, Eureka, and Anemone "came to be"
Anyway...it was cool how Norbu and Renton had a heart to heart talk with each other, just like Eureka and Sakuya did. Notice how Sakuya and Norbu finished each other's thoughts during the story, when it cut back and forth? I thought that was a nice touch (one of many, really).
Also, did anyone else think that lil' Norbu was a little reminiscient of Dominic?
I read various people's theories about the positioning of Sakuya's compac drives in relation to the "glowing green spots" of LFOs...very interesting. Well, supposedly the LFOs are the ships needed to crossover the zone, so that might have something to do with it. Maybe it completes the interface between corallian and LFO. Although, I find the idea that the LFOs might have been forerunners for the humanoid corallians to be interesting as well....
That also leads me to another theory: The LFOs are said to be our ships...maybe that is why Sakuya and Norbu's attempt failed? While Sakuya seemed to disintegrate, Norbu was forced out of the Zone...I wonder, if they had had the protection of a LFO, would the have actually made it?
All and all, there were far to many great little moments to mention and I think Cille pretty much covered them all anyway. The gift of the Lotus...Sakuya's smile, just for Norbu...Norbu and Sakuya's fateful kiss...their desperation to stay together...how Norbu and Sakuya recognized each other all those years later and, despite the freakiness of the gooey arms, the warmness of their touch...how Maurice, showing his age finally, took charge with the rest of the children...how Eureka showed her love, but drawing one large heart around Sakuya's smaller ones...that one was probably the best. And, for those people who were whining about it, Eureka finally has long hair again (although, personally, I still think she looks cuter with short hair
). Although, she still has her scars. I like what she said about them too. Very true, Eureka, very true.
And then, at the end, we have the military coming in and a very rousing, if somewhat morbid, speech by Holland. Way to go, Leader!
Again, it's been awesome to see Holland actually take charge in these last few episodes. ![]()
I'm excited for what the next episode holds...I predict more suprising things revealed and one of Gekkostates signature, last ditch escapes! ![]()

Oh, and a couple other things I wanted to touch upon:
First, I think that the part about Sakuya only getting along with Norbu could be used as an example of relationships in general. Sakuya had had a bunch of other servants before hand...but only one that made her smile. After all, we all might be shallow people on the outside, but really, aren't we really seeking someone that makes us happy? ![]()
Which brings me to my next point. Sakuya said that Eureka and Renton need to be "happy". I think this advice stems from the fact that Sakuya and Norbu had such a short time together before the Voderack high priests (who continue to fail at life) sent them off to the Zone...and it's also a continuation of Sakuya saying she was jealous for what Eureka has. She has Renton and a family...and although they are still under pressure to cross the Great Wall before the world explodes, she and Renton at least know what is at stake and should use the time before hand to enjoy themselves. For example, I'm pretty sure Sakuya would have approved of the soccer game that Norbu set up.
Anyway, just a couple things that I thought up after my initial, Kunta-class post. ^_^

And your reason for thinking this is? I haven't seen anything that has made me think that Anemone is not a Coralian. Dewey seems to hate coralians and in the last episode when he reffered to her as "IT" I think just proves that she is.

I personally don't think Anemone is even coralian.

However, my theory could really use some helpful information...like maybe showing us how exactly Sakuya, Eureka, and Anemone "came to be" You see thats what I think about Anemone. I mean Eureka left, Sakuya was destroyed, the military really needed a secret weapon to replace Eureka. Thus artificial Coralian formed in a testtube, or a tortured human soul. Now on the Compacs on Sakuya's body, Im not totally sure that Sakuya was "better" than Eureka. I though Eureka was better than Sakuya, kind of a Sakuya 2.0 she didnt need Compac drives to keep her stable, if thats what they did at all.
Yeah I liked the story telling in this episode a lot. You mean Dominic's nervousness?
That also leads me to another theory: The LFOs are said to be our ships...maybe that is why Sakuya and Norbu's attempt failed? While Sakuya seemed to disintegrate, Norbu was forced out of the Zone...I wonder, if they had had the protection of a LFO, would the have actually made it? Well thats what I figure the Nirvash is for. Its the vessal to take them across the Great Wall. Theyve all ready gone through the zone once. Which makes me think that the Great Wall cant JUST be that. Im thinking the part that Norbu and Sakuya failed at was the first part of the Great Wall, after that... who knows what could be next. Dinosaurs?
All and all, there were far to many great little moments to mention and I think Cille pretty much covered them all anyway. Different eyes from other Coralians, and the fact that Sakuya hasn't mentioned her yet.
Exactly. Sakuya's been communicating with the scub for 40 years now. If they sent another messanger out Sakuya would have known.
So now Im thinking either Anemone is a test tube child, or a very tortured little girl ![]()

Anemone was most likely taken by the military and expirimented on heavly. All to make something to replace Eureka.
