Sorry for bringing this up again and not letting it die, but.
DBZ and Inuyasha the same? To quote Inuyasha "Feh"
DBZ equals endless fights against more powerful foes
Inuyasha equals fights against a single cunning, but not to powerful foe who eventually does become stronger then the group and fights of almost equal opponents that acctually comes to a battle of skill and not just who can make a bigger blast.
Though I like both, I like them for different reasons. DBZ I like because it was non stop action, something I was very easy to get into back when I was younger, it convinced me to look into martial arts and unlike most people who are DBZ fans, it wasn't because I wanted to shoot Ki blasts, it was for the sake of the art, though on a side note. Ki is real it can't be taken to the extreams that you see in that anime, most you can use it for in a ki blast is a small ball about as big as your eye, it is very hot and gives off only a little bit of light.
Inuyasha though, I like it for its action, in that it is very 'real' in a sense, it employs physics into it, like Inuyasha's swing of the Tessaiga, you can see how much power he puts behind it and compare it to how much damage it does. I also love the romance, the Inuyasha and Kagome moments can be heartwarming to see and there is also Sango and Miroku's parts though they arn't shown as much as Kagome and Inuyasha's are.
There is also the conficts that happen in the story, it isn't just oh, there is a new bad guy lets go fight him, its a major conflict and you also have the characters conflicts.
Everyone wants to kill Naraku, that is the major conflict of the story right? Well, then you also have Inuyasha's conflict with himself over weither to use the jewel once they get it back, to use it to become a youkai or to become human, like he was going to do for Kikyou, or even to stay just as he is for Kagome becuase she says that she loves him just as he is. There is also his conflict with Kagome and Kikyou, which as the series goes on you really see him start to sway over to Kagome.
You also have Kagome's conflict with Inuyasha and Kikyou's relationship and how she reacts to it and later comes to terms with it. Sango's conflict with having to might kill her brother. Miroku's conflict with his Kazaana, which really does affect him in a lot of ways as you get to see later in the series. Even Naraku's henchmen have a personality and conflicts of there own. Kagura is trying to be free of Naraku, but how to kill him without having him just crush her heart.
It really is a deep anime when you get to the heart of things and not just look at the broad scope of things and Zero, if you are still here, if you would be mature and look past the petty things that you seem to hate about the anime, then you would see this too. This also goes out to all the others that seem to hate this anime.
Oh and I also hate the fans of DBZ and Inuyasha that don't take the time to think 2 seconds before they spout off nonsense about how great the animes are, without even listing what is great about them.
Ok, I am done now.
Things I will never forgive the english version of Inuyasha for. Kagome saying 'sit' instead of Osuwari, how many times will she have to avoid that word in Inuyasha's presence.
Screaming fangirls that found out about the series becuase of it and will not stop writing stupid fanfiction about how they wind up in the Sengoku Jidai and how Inuyasha falls in love with them.
Keade's old english voice
Need I go on, long live the japanese version of what many concider one of the greatest romance/action anime of all time. ƒ
