they are the same show. period. no differences at all, its like DBZ left behind a Mad Libs game with all their scripts and story boards and someone in japan picked it up and filled in blanks with "inuyasha" and "seshomauro" in place of goku and vegeta, and all these "ultimate techniques" in place of stuff like ki attacks.  It also has that spontaeneous crappitude that was everpresent in DBZ, example: Inuyasha and Kagome are walking around somewhere for now reason when all of the sudden some jumps out of the ground and inuyasha kills it".  Wallah, an episode of Inuyasha is born.  THAT IS THE STORYBOARD OF EVERY EPISODE. i wish to god that I was the guy they hired to make story boards for this show, because all my job would entail is making 100 or so copies of the same board.

You are aware that you are not supposed to force anyone to agree with you. If they want to, fine. But you trying to "enlighten" the people ain't gonna happen. You can get banned over it.

On a side note, DB in all it's incarnations is one of the longest running series in Japan. It would'nt be suprising if the formula for their sucsess was borrowed by other shows.

I'd have to agree with you. DBZ is better simply because Inu-yasha tries to put romance in the anime (which I don't understand why, The manga is quite a bit different) And DBZ is nothing but fighting. But I'm serious Soap operas have better romance than Inuyasha.

dbz and inuyasha arent that similiar.. on dbz.. they have to power up and they can fly and teleport wherever they want.. but i do agree with the fact that you know whats going to happen before it does.. its quite predictable but i still like both of the shows.

but inu fans are such easy prey so far they havent offered much of a challenge debate-wise, although you may be right that they would be childish enough to report someone for making a valid arguement...but i have confidents in the mods ability to see reason and logic, maybe thats why im not so afraid

Ok, here it is folks, similairities

Both take entire seasons for anything relevent to happen, inuyasha is actually worse in this case because absolutely nothing ever gets done in the show, evar.  Both rely on plots twists just "popping up" to make new episodes.  Inuyasha episodes are makred by abbout 4 episodes of pure filler before the get back to the main storyline.  DBZ deviates from the main storyline, but its more in the fashion of having 15 minutes of every episode devoted to the characters grunting and staring at eachother.  Both shows rely on a system of reaching new levels of power in order to defeat enemy after enemy.  Both shows are shallow and display very little except the basics of human emotion(love, hate, stupidity) Both shows follow the same archetype of characters-strong warrior type main character, defenseless girl who complains a lot, and wimpy tag alongs who dont do anything but get in the way.  One unique aspect of Inuyasha is its overdone love intrest which makes it irresistable to middle school girls, unfortunately this aspect doesnt enhance Inuyasha, it turns it from a generic anime into a horrid stain which occupies 2 slots on AS's saturday lineup.  Both have the existance of goals which once achieved will result in the main character having more power (the wind scar/SS levels) Both have a very shallow and basic theme of "good" vs "evil" which doesnt explain anything of the nature of good or evil, but rather just ap[plies them to characteristics, gives everyone a sword and lets em have at it.

I can go on if you want, but I think thats sufficient for now
