New shows listed on schedule

[ Edited ]

Cashern Sins and Deadman Wonderland

What do you think, troll or the actual schedule?

I wouldn't mind watching Cashern Sins since I haven't seen it yet, but Deadman Wonderland isn't that good.

Yeah those are the shows that are going to show this Saturday. I read what they were about. I gotta admit, I'm not looking forward to them.

Haven't seen Casshern Sins, but I liked Deadman Wonderland despite all the flack it gets. Hoping that there's actually some classic Toonami shows and that it isn't just two new lackluster shows but with T.O.M. floating around in the background. To be honest, it would've been more exciting if they freed up the schedule and took FMA, Bleach, and GitS out of rotation so that it could completely retool the playing field, but I guess it'll just be the same stagnant lineup with two replacements for Kekkaishi and Durarara

Looks like FUNi handed off a couple of shows that nobody else would care about.

Deadman Wonderland doesn't even have an English cast listed on ANN. At least it has a NIRGILIS song to look forward to.

But hey, new anime is new anime.

I've only vaguely heard of either. I checked descriptions and they sound like they could be alright, though the artwork looks unappealing to me personally from what little I've seen. I'll give them each a try if they do actually air.

Right now, I'm too grateful to see any new anime on [adult swim] to complain.

I don't know how well Casshern will do ratings-wise with the [as] crowd, but I watched it when it aired and thought it was really good.

I think Deadman Wonderland will do well, though, considering how action heavy it is. I agree that it wasn't that great, though.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to complain about it.  DW is a good fit for the block, and I think/hope it will do well.

Looks like it's time to bust out my old Casshan DVD my uncle gave me in preparation for this glorious night.

Even if Deadman Wonderland is as bad as most of you say it is (which it probably is), leave it to Toonami to make it look, sound, and feel badass. After all, they did it with a lot of their other shows.

If most of the people around here are saying it's bad it's probably the ####. Every time some show gets alot of hype, and I watch it, I always end up disappointed. I wanted to see DW a while back and now's my chance. My legal chance.

They're working on a small budget right now. So says Jason Demarco.

Perhaps this is all an elaborate cover for something greater? After all, it's only a matter of time before FMA:B finishes it's second run. And when that happens, something will need to be there to replace it. The question is what.
Anime I'm watching: Oreimo S2

Well I thought about it this morning, and let me go over my take-

Deadman Wonderland- This is a very dark, stylistic, moody looking, and short show.  The problem is this premise was already aired on Adult Swim.  It was called Superjail.  So yeah.  Betting the farm on a show whose premise you've already used can be problematic AT BEST.

Casshern Sins- Oh boy, another really dialog heavy show that moves slow and confuses readers (albiet this one has a lot of robot fighting).  You'd think the other dozen times this was tried they would have learned.

The OVER 9,000th rerun of Bebop and Ghost in the Shell- This is worst than Beastmaster.  These shows have been reran to the point of exhaustion and no amount of promotions will make the ending any less of a spoiler to me, since I watched the end of Bebop way back in 2001!

DeMarco confessing he has very, very, VERY little money to work with- It's obvious that Toonami is Adult Swim anime's last stand, with the block razed and ruined by years of Kim Manning's incompetent pickups and some of the most counter-productive advertising in television history.  So if this fails, we will be getting the all comedy block.  Oooh, the anticipation is blinding.

oh, for those obessed about anime promotion - please stop, youre just wrong. we cant even debate it because ive made a decent living by looking at promo schedules and ratings grids probably for longer than youve been alive. i can assure you that if anime promotion was the answer to anime success then youd see more anime promotion. cos then id be making more mad cash and wouldnt have to write things on the internet about anime. -Adult Swim President Mike Lazzo

http://vod.fxnetworks.com/watch/angermanagement - Full episodes of Anger Management. Because Charlie is winning, unlike Casshern Sins.

Well at least it is Vic Mignogna free. Or so we can only hope. Could use more Blum though. But then, what couldn't?

Well we're going to have to get used to hearing the same relatively small pool of voices if we're going to keep getting FUNi shows. :smileyvery-happy:

Which sadly is not likely to include Travis Willingham on most new shows, since he's apparently stuck in California making a living doing video game stuff. Frickin' video games.

[adult swim] has done this before. Remember Stroker and Hoop and Assy McGee? Did AS really need two buddy cop parodies?

I'll get over it when you provide me with a youtube link with all of his video game lines compiled so I don't have to bother with the actual games. :womanmad:
