Anyone know if they are moving boondocks off of Saturday? Just seen something saying its moving to weekdays at 12:30 with no mention of the Saturday time slot of 11 and 11:30. Maybe something is being planned for toonami lol I know its a long shot but gotta have hope.( wait could be an opening for clone wars lol)
(To Ichigo) "Ichigo, what's the difference between a king and his horse? I don't mean kiddy stuff like "One's a person and one's an animal" or "One has two legs and one has four." If their form, ability and power were exactly the same, why is it that one becomes the king and controls the battle, while the other becomes the horse and carries the king?! There's only one answer. Instinct! In order for identical beings to get stronger and gain the power they need to become king, they must search for more battles and power! They thirst for battle, and live to mercilessly, crush, shred, and slice their enemies! Deep, deep within our body lies the honed instinct to kill, and slaughter our enemies! But you don't have that! You don't have those pure, base instincts! You fight with your brain. You try to defeat your enemies with logic! And it doesn't work! You're trying to cut them with a sheathed sword! That's why you're weaker than me, Ichigo!"[155] [Hollow Ichigo]

(To Ichigo) "I'm not gonna have it, Ichigo. I don't know about Zangetsu, but I refuse to carry a king who's weaker than me and get cut to ribbons with him. If you're weaker than me, then I'll destroy you, and take your crown for myself."[156] [Hollow Ichigo]

The Boondocks is just getting a weekday run and Aqua Teen and Metalocalypse will take it's current 11PM hour on Saturday and no other changes are on the horizon.

No expansion for action much less a new Toonami block.

HELPeR for the TOONAMI, Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, Harvey Birdman and Perfect Hair Forever boards. Feel free to ask me anything on those topics.

To answer the question of what to do with there being open, instead of spending money on all anime, get a really good anime and also collaborate with DC studios to have an animated Adult Swim action original based on a popular super hero and have the content of the show be 100% relevant with no censorchip (I mean swearing and blood but they have to cut out nudity thats goes without saying.)

I personally think the prospect of such a thing would boost the ratings for action lovers and for saturday night action viewers and also catch the interest of lovers of comic books. Adult Swim and DC are owned by the same company, they wouldn't lose money concerning rights or anything, marketing and budget for the animated series would fall on the animation studio so Adult Swim wouldn't lose money on that.

I now have a facebook for my indie press group but its not ready yet so hold your horses ya crazies.
I'm happy we have Toonami back and I'll watch it and defend it with all my might, it's been a ray of hope in this wasteland of crappy original comedies.
Also Check out my suggestions for Toonami

All I'm saying is, unless CN gets their **horse neigh** in gear and gets some anime back on their Channel Nicktoons will most likely steal ALL of CN's former anime:smileyindifferent:, also come March CN is cancelling Pokemon Bakugan and Beyblade too.....probably, unless they move them to an afternoon slot

Really? Where did u hear that about Pokemon/Bakugan/etc?

I didn't "hear" about it, but on march 3rd they're replacing their current Saturday morning Block with the "DC nation" Saturday morning Block, that means they're either re-scheduleing their anime, or getting rid of them entirely, and based on their opinion of anime, cancelling sounds more likely

You need to read further in the thread. I already refuted that post.

Beyblade and Pokemon are still airing on Saturday mornings in the slots they have been since the beginning of the year.

Cartoon Network's Saturday morning block with Beyblade, Pokémon and Ben 10 absolutely tanked last week. It seems like a really bad idea to launch DC Nation on Saturday mornings with those shows.

Airing those in prime time on Saturday would be much wiser and to play devil's advocate on the revive Toonami concept, it would be interesting to see ASA rebranded as Toonami.

Both Star Wars: TCW and ThunderCats get Bleach level ratings with 18-49 in prime time against WWE Friday Night Smack Down. Imagine how well they'd do with less competition. Both are also on shakey ground now in regaurds kids' ratings. Perhaps they should have their next season's retooled for teens and adults before low kids' ratings get them cancelled. They could be the flagship series for a new Toonami rebranding ASA.

Maybe something like this:

9:00 pm - ThunderCats
9:30 pm - Sym-Bionic Titan / Megas XLR
10:00 pm -Star Wars: TCW
10:30 pm - Star.Wars: TCW
11:00 pm - Bleach Premiere
11:30 pm - Anime Premiere
12:00 am - Fullmetal
12:30 am - Durarara
1:00 am - Bleach Restart
1:30 am- Bleach Restart
2:00 am - The Big O
2:30 am - Cowboy Bebop
3:00 am - GitS: SAC
3:30 am - InuYasha
4:00 am - InuYasha
4:30 am - Bleach Encore
5:00 am - Anime Encore
5:30 am - I.G.P.X

The only thing nicktoons picked up was DBZ Kai and GT. I highly doubt they're going to air the original Dragon Ball, because that's just way too risque for a kids network which is ironically owned by one of the most liberal media outlets.

Toonami got around all the adult stuff easily, they just dubbed underpants onto the nude characters and removed all of Bulma's bath scenes........as for

Spoiler
Bulma flashing her naked crotch at Master roshi.

...they dubbed underpants on her and changed "panties" to belly button....but didn't change anything else.....as hard as it would be, Nicktoons could still manage it....with severe editing of course........also I'm assuming Nickelodeon wants Sailor moon, because they licensed the Winx club which is a blatant rip-off of Sailor moon

I don't know if they can get Sailoor Moon since no one is licensing the show in North America ATM.

If they did, it would be another step for Nicktoons into becoming a carbon-copy of the old Cartoon Network. Good luck to them, seeing as how they'll need it for a channel that isn't in the amount of homes like CN is.

there's some happenings with the sailor moon franchise that imply that it's on the verge of being re-licesned in North America....or rather Toei is trying like hell to get it re-licensed.....it's also become super popular in America Again, the Manga is back in print in north America(go buy it please) and there are stores selling Sailor Moon merchandise at the moment....at some point it's deffinately  coming back, it's inevitable

Toei trying like hell to do something? That's a laughable notion. Toei is more likely the reason why Sailor Moon has not be re-licensed here yet. They don't have a say with the manga but when it comes ot the anime they're the ones calling the shots. FUNimation has expressed interest and some other companies may have as well but Toei is tough to negotiate with for anything. If anyone is slowing Sailor Moon's return to the US market it's Toei themselves.

Nick owns Winx Club now so it's very likely if Sailor Moon was available that they'd be interested in getting it. The Hub is also plenty girl centric and could be interested in airing even the old hackjob episodes of Sailor Moon if Toei allowed someone to distribute those again. Or a new dub for that matter.

Getting back to Dragon Ball, I don't think Nicktoons will touch the original series. Not for the content but more so the age. It's very very old. GT came out in the mid 90s in Japan and it looks awful on Nicktoons. The Bardock special is the oldest Dragon Ball anything Nicktoons has aired while the movies they aired were produced for theaters and had much better animation and are also not quite as old. Nicktoons doesn't air many shows from the 90s these days much less the 80s and Kai was remastered and had some things re-animated to make it look more modern. I'd welcome them airing the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z but even that seems a bit unlikely due to the age of the animation. The first Dragon Ball series is pretty much out of the question.

Nicktoons are carbon copy of the old CN? I don't remember the old CN having Power Rangers for one thing. I'm might just blow some minds with this next comment but in recent years Nicktoons has dedicated more hours to action animation than Cartoon Network did when Toonami was in it's prime. So I think their future for action animation is very bright with Korra and Ninja Turtles coming but it remains to be seen if Nicktoons will air more anime than Dragon Ball series and Monsuno.

The very idea that Nicktoons would air shows like Gundam, Outlaw Star, Tenchi, Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho is laughable. The Toonami method of editing down actually rather innappropriate shows for marketing to children is long dead. Now we have Adult Swim for airing those Japanese cartoons that are not appropriate for children without considerable censorship. Naruto has generally been the exception to the rule in recent years, at least other than Dragon Ball Z. If Nicktoons got Shippuden and/or the first Naruto series then they'd be nipping at Cartoon Network's heels for being the biggest name for anime in the basic cable business. Perhaps likewise if they aired One Piece or even Fairy Tail. But for now Nicktoons does not seem all that interested in expanding their anime line-up beyond things named Dragon Ball (other than the first series) and the usual monster battle fare currently seen on Cartoon Network.

Though another rather dramatic shake up would be if Pokemon USA got tired of Cartoon Network not giiving Pokemon it's due and decided to take the franchise elsewhere and elsewhere could be Nicktoons but they'd still be in less homes if they did that and I don't imagine Pokemon USA wants the franchise to lose so much exposure so they'll keep dealing with Cartoon Network at least until Nicktoons is in a lot more homes.

And yet it's not available in the US again yet. And the reason? Well it's certainly not lack of interest. Not when the manga is doing so well. Most likely Toei has specific demands that none of the interested parties agree with or it might simply come down to the alighty dollar. Toei probably wants more money for Sailor Moon than FUNimation and the other comapnies are willing to pay. Which means they may have to bring it out themselves as they once did. We shall see.

And what's more popular than all of those? My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Amusingly rather popular with males as well. It is kind of like Sailor Moon in that regard.

The Hub unlike Nick, Disney and Cartoon Network understands the value offering shows for both genders. None of those networks would have even considered airing Jem and the Holograms but The Hub did. It's true The Hub has more boy centric shows than girl centric ones but of all the networks on the air I'm sure they are the most likely to be willing to play Sailor Moon. Nick is wasting Winx Club in an early morning weekday slot and a noon premiere slot on Sundays and Nicktoons is the more boy centric of Nick's two networks.

On top of that The Hub is considerably more willing to play older shows. They'd have no qualms airing Dragon Ball while Nicktoons would. Likewise Sailor Moon much better suits The Hub where new animation airs right along side series from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Nickelodeon still might be interested if they made Nicktoons a bit more gender neutral but until they do that it is unlikely they'd want Sailor Moon.

Really it's increasingly unlikely Sailor Moon will air on television here outside of The FUNimation Channel but that's probably what Toei would prefer as opposed to just a DVD or Blu-Ray release and that might be one of the reasons why it has not yet been licensed here. Toei has rather unreasonable expectations for their shows in America. American television as a whole has little interest in anime and even Nicktoons and Cartoon Network are not willing to pick up just anything.

At the end of the day it was Toei who took back the rights to Sailor Moon's anime. They are the reason it is no longer licensed here and also the reason we never got the Sailor Stars saga and it sure took them a heck of a long time to realize the franchise had life left in it.

They are the reason it is no longer licensed here and also the reason we never got the Sailor Stars saga and it sure took them a heck of a long time to realize the franchise had life left in it.

so you belive that Toei hates America and will never give us Sailor moon again because they have an anti-American vandetta?:smileyindifferent:, even though they're actively sending it EVERYWHERE right now?:smileyindifferent:, the only catch is that they're selling the entire series for dubbing rights......including Stars:smileyindifferent:, they're lumping it all together, if a company buys the rights they get the whole thing, Classic, R, S, SuperS, Stars, it all comes as one series:smileyindifferent:

I never said Toei had anything against America but they are the ones who previously pulled the rights for some inexplicible reason.

Toei has a history of handing their big shows off to ill suited companies such as Saban, D.i.C and 4Kids and then pulling the rights when the shows are not making the money they expected them to.

Now take the current One Piece situation, after releasing 205 episodes on Toei's behalf it still took years of negotiating for FUNimation to get just about 60 more episodes and Toei has yet to grant them the remaining 200+ for dubbing. Do you think Viz has to deal with that for Naruto and Bleach? Of course not because they were able to sign a contract for both entire series as they continued to air or at least Viz didn't have long waits to add more episodes to the contracts.

Toei is very "wait and see" with their shows. And wont grant full distribution control for hardly any of those shows.

So chances are they're taking their sweet time negotiating the Sailor Moon rights to various interested parties but it'll likely be a while before anyone announces the license in the US.
HELPeR for the TOONAMI, Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, Harvey Birdman and Perfect Hair Forever boards. Feel free to ask me anything on those topics.

that's actually what I said.....it'll come back eventually not probably not for a while, but in israel and france they offered all 200 episodes of the series for license at once:smileyindifferent:

Well it's nice that they aren't holding back Sailor Stars this go around. So now we wait.

The Adult Swim forum knows the acknowledgment of a obscure site on the internet, that's rich.  I am actually a very contributing member on there.
