instead of watchin animu and coming here, i have been watching sports and playing video games and i haven't seen any animu during that time, maybe i lost the passion in animu in fact to treat this malaise i have been watching hentai, which is not a good thing, is there anything to get over this slump?

I lost my passion for anime a couple of years ago now.
To me the last great anime was Gurren Lagann the rest are only so much crap being churned out.

My passion comes and goes with whatever holds my interest past one episode. So far, the last anime to do that was either Sasameki Koto or Aoi Hana, which I watched in the summer.

What anime did you consider good?

I kind of have to know that so I can base my perscription on that.

Gun x Sword
Trigun
GaoGaiGar
Zeta Gundam
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad
Mitchiko No Hatchin (if you can find it, it's not licensed)

Mazinkaiser (sp?)

Long series recommendations:

Dragon Ball (the first series not Dragon Ball Z)
One Piece
Yu Yu Hakusho
Hunter x Hunter (the new one it just started)

Movie recommendations:

Redline

Those series might restore your passion for Japanese cartoons but judging by your MAL you've watched some of the best out there and are probably just frustrated that so much of what is coming out of Japan today doesn't appeal to you.

You are not alone but don't let the current output ruin the rest of what has come out of Japan for you.

Maybe you could take up reading manga. It's cheaper and you can probably cover the material in less time.

That is, unless you have a burning need for filler shenanigans.

You guys realize that Japanese animation studios aren't obligated to please Western viewers, at all. They can pump out all the moe, slice-of-life, and ecchi that's borderline hentai, if it rakes in the $.

If someone wants to fix this problem, then companies should invest in the collaboration with anime studios more often. We got stuff like Thundercats, Marvel anime, and the Supernatural anime. But come on, we don't need to see rehashes of licensed material, produce something original for once.

Because there ain't #### to watch anymore,  I did to loose my passion until I seen some old toonami promo's then I got all nostalgic and went back to the classics  I'm currently rewatching outlaw star, and after that Idk wtf to watch.

No offense, but you guys have pretty narrow views on anime if you only watch what was on t.v. ten years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I discovered anime through television, and I did get to see some really great anime that wasn't on Cartoon Network, but I actually took some time to discover what I like and what I dislike.

well there is that one anime thats coming out has yoko kano doing the music, watanabe (aka guy that did samurai champloo and cowboy bebop) directing it, and i think the guy who did escaflowne is doing the art or something idk. EITHER WAY ITS GONNA BE EPIC <3

so yeah, once in awhile they out something thats pure gold <3 actually Another is a pretty good series thats airing. been awhile i watched a good suspense mystery anime <3

Oh don't get me wrong I watch plenty of anime that you would consider (out of the box)

I just like going back to my routes the last couple years I must of watched 50 + animes

i just stick to manga these days. anime hasn't been very worth watching rly.

Yeah in April...

At the most, I like to check out the soundtrack... unfortunately the anime doesn't interest me (slice of life, romance, etc. isn't up my alley).
