now with deadman wonderland which for me gave me chuckles because of its over the top and ridiculous violence, it might turn out to be a hilarious series, but a double standard i thought of today was that this show probably wasn't tone down when it was released yet another funimation title was. apparently yamada's first time resulted in the production staff getting bomb/death threats every week this animu aired, on top of which strike witches 2 hasn't come to the states yet possibly because the justice department might imprison top executives at the studio. i mean are people are more accepting of nihilism and cruelty and extreme violence and yet when it comes to something whimsical and lighthearted there automatically dismissive of it?

I think he meant in Japan, cidz.
Violence is more easily censorable in Japan than sex stuff, so the latter has a larger chance of getting past the Tokyo Air Check, which leaves it open for parents against sex on TV to wish death down upon the producers, who they wish would be subject to some of the things in the programs they don't bother protesting against. *points to the former category*
KIGUMA - Chapter 12 out now. Enjoy!

Any threats with the justice department are empty ones. However companies don't want to cause problems when the anime industry in america isn't strong yet.

I actually think America is alot better about this stuff, like with Yamada's First Time, the most we did was ignore it and/or regretted our purchase of the said DVDs. In Japan, the fans sent angry letters demanding the heads of all who were involved. It seems that in Japan, they take anime as even more serious business than we do, almost to the point where Mamoru Miyano (the voice actor for Light Yagami, Masaomi Kida, and Moondoggie) received dozens of death threats and insults when he announced he would be married. Pop idols and female seiyuu have it even worse with stalkers and creepy fans over their

Where are people getting that it's so overly violent? It doesn't look any worse than alot of other anime.
