I was thinking

perhaps you could play shows on sunday night

(april fools 2012 is a sunday)

that have nothing to do with [Adult Swim]

for example,

An episode of House or White Collar.

Also,

Perhaps on the part of sunday

that coincides with the action block

you could play all the animes

without the dubs

and without the subtitles!

I like the anime without dubs/subs suggestion. Or better yet, AS comedy with Japanese language dubs of animes!

I made an April Fool's thread in February of 2011, and some people suggested some good things they can do. Here are my favorites from the thread:

Oh, or they could put the sound track from comedy shows and play it over the anime shows. So like, you'd be watching Bleach, but the sound track is Xavior or Minoriteam, or Assy McGee or Childrens Hospital--one of those comedies that just go on the weirdest tangents sometimes.

Or they could redub anime dialogue with AS comedy VAs. It's the same dialogue the anime shows already had, but done in the voices of Master Shake, Early Cuyler, Zorack, Brak, etc.  That would be awesome to hear some epic dramatic speech from a Bleach character in Brak's voice.

I'll reitertate what I posted in the thread that got bumped about this.

Mess with everyones' heads since you know they are just going to air this foolery during the Saturday night run anyway. At Midnight, start showing that craphole "The Room" which will send most of the anime fans expecting "Bleach" screaming and bring in those who can't seem to get enough of bad Frankenstein's Monster black box pron. But only play like the starting credits of that thing since they are at least 10 minutes long. Then flip to an anime movie which will send "The Room" groupies screaming because it's anime. And when the word gets out that an anime movie aired instead, the anime fans that left will get pissed that they missed most / all of it depending on when they find out.

I could be extra evil and suggest an anime movie that they haven't aired at all but that might be going too far unless there's any hope for a future, scheduled airing of that movie.

play comedy on the anime night instead of anime. people will realize it's an april fool's joke. then play comedy every subsequent anime night (as well as every other night).

If we're going to be petty, then I'd like to remind that April 1st doesn't -end- until April 2nd -begins- . Which means for the first three hours of the Sunday block, those are on April Fool's Day too.

So. For those first few hours of the Sunday run that fall on April 1st, air ANIME. No one will see that coming because they have been lulled for years into believing that [as] wouldn't do something like that. But the thing is, they can. It's their block. And if they were to spread the foolery past borking with the midnight schedule to prime-time Sunday [relatively speaking] for that one night, well...let's just say it could be done.
