We live in an age where Hulu is available on not only all major consoles, but cell phones, computers, tablets, and those little Roku streaming boxes, and offers literally 50 times the anime Adult Swim does on demand. There is NO excuse at this point for relying on Adult Swim for anime. Particularly as their choices are so terrible.
being a little blunt here but the same thing can be said for virtually all the high-ratings comedy currently within the schedule at [as]. and not everyone has the access to the types of brandwidth needed to get programs online. you ever try to pick up a video with 2 bars in the middle of podunka, usa? if phone calls #### on a cell phone with that, video not happening. so constantly beating the drum to remove all the anime that is currently only scheduled for only a handful of hours one night within the full scoop of the company's scheduled hours is just such a level of sad that it would make space ghost cry.
here's the lay-down. saturdays are a tough sell because people are busy. everyone knows that. even the basement dwellers. but the anime gets solid core ratings. don't like the choices offered, fine. suggest something that can actually work on cable tv without ending up being gutted or costing more that cc spent on futurama and watch the magic happen. don't like anime, fine too. but don't harp about how it's very existance on a night that you don't watch anyway is somehow destroying your tv / life. it isn't unless you are strapped to a gurney and the remote is broken and you fidn yourself being ocularly assaulted at midnight by a soul reaper with battle boobs. ...need to have a commercial featuring that. ratings through the roof.
and for the whole saturday schedule getting the wobbles for this star wars thing, saturdays also tend to be the easiest to change at a moments notice for special occasions and because of the day itself with people usually having the following day off. it's one of the crappier aspects of saturday. if mondays were holidays, and many of us wish it was! , sundays would likely see more schedule shakeups. it's why saturdays see specials like this for the whole 3D release thing and those BK schedules from hell things. so for those at a major sad about the schedule this week, see you next week then. for those of you so in love with hating, guess that nielsen box will be turned off next week. because anime will be back. enjoy the show ya'll.
