I'm a long-time [as] fan. CN was what brought me to anime. First with DBZ & Toonami & all that & later with [as].
You know, six freakin days a week we get NO anime @ all. Then, on Saturday night we get a late-night dungeon cubby hole that supposedly nobody else wants. And now even that's taken from us.
I know stretchor or somebody will probably try & contradict me but I still stand by the theory I heard on the anime forums a few yrs ago that Nielson ratings are full of #### & how they undercount college dorms & other places for young people. Thus artificially depressing anime ratings. And it gives another reason for [as]'s fools-of-directors for picking more live-action trash.
Anyhoot -- stand with me & boycott [as] tonight as a show that we don't wanna watch more comedy. Robot Chicken & Clone Wars are both ok shows -- but they show them too much. Join me -- let's boycott in solidarity. Already -- anime's pretty much the only time I ever watch [as] anyway. I know they wanna phase us out but lets show them, even if its symbolic -- that our vote still matters.

get over it, this kind of stuff happens once in a blue-moon.
it also could be much worse too. for example, [as] does a 6 hour marathon of House of Payne on April 1st, from midnight to 6am

Unless they decide that a marathon of Peter's Greatest Blunders is better or Seaslab 2021 in reverse would be more enjoyable.

Nielsen actually started counting college dorms five years ago.
The theory that anime ratings are somehow "artificially depressed" is about as good as anything the Birthers come up with.
If you say so...![]()
Lemme guess -- the live action #### even gets better ratings than anime right?
I have a friend from college & we used to watch anime together. I emailed him recently & mentioned about [as] & he mentioned how I think a lotta anime fans & even fans of the older more politically-intellectual comedy like Venture Bros or Harvery Birdman feel -- & that's that the newer live-action stuff can't even be dignified with a low ratings. Its just 'budget cuts.'
They don't even try any more. At least with TGTTM & trash like that they tried to keep it in the cartoon format. Now they just wanna make shows for nothing. No wonder nobody watches anything but the Fox shows & Robot Chicken nowadays....

Their loss, not mine. I actually do watch anime online. A lot of stuff that was never on [as]. Its just -- they're the ones losing ratings because people don't watch live-action trash. No matter what the people who reference Nielson say. Oh, & the Nielson ratings are bunk. I've never met a single person who's taken one of their stupid surveys.

Well since you called me out.
Nielsen is a flawed system. It apparently overrepresents the more rural and less educated sections of the United States. So that explains why the most low brow programming tends to do well.
Given that system is there any wonder why anime where there's not a lot of action going on is going to do badly and Bleach is top the heap due to it's constant fights and bouncing breasts? That's why Jeebus says Adult Swim shouldn't bother airing anime if it isn't similarily violent and fanservice heavy... though at this point he'd rather they just quit anime all together.
But as flawed as the system is the fact of the matter is Adult Swim's anime is niche and doesn't appeal to mainstream audiences so obviously it's going to do worse than comedies that anybody can pick up and watch any episode of without feeling lost.
Say what you will about Childrens Hospital and even Tim and Eric but they are easier for mainstream viewers to sit through than most Japanese cartoons.
I am joining you in boycotting Adult Swim tonight, not that it's going to make a difference since I don't have a Nielsen box and I don't usually watch even most of the anime on Saturday any given week (I DVR some for later though) but it's the principle of the matter. I guess...
I do hope this night doesn't do particularly well for Saturday because if it does we could lose the 2AM-4AM anime to a comedy encore from earlier in the night but I think their love of those old anime outweigh any need to do better in those hours. It's the early morning hours on a Sunday. It's not like they have a lot of competition for that time.

It's all good. I have no beef with you west and I'd rather Adult Swim not pull stunts like this either.

I didn't watch either, though not because of an active will to not do so, but a lack of a tv. However, I would be boycotting if I did have one. Eh, I still watched anime though, at the campus' anime club. Fun times.

Hi. Nielsen loves me long time and I watch the animes. ![]()
I also get the option of low-rating something that might have been on but that I didn't like worth a hoot. It's like being able to cancel your rating with extreme prejudice.
