the only bad thing about last saturday was trying to get through saturday night knowing that i had nothing to watch on tv (save for robot chicken star wars) i dont like watching anime online unless its from youtube because i REALLY HATE having to go through so much crap on some random site just to watch something thats only going to take about 27 minutes to watch, such as time limits or surveys  (i hate that ####). id rather much watch it on youtube. in fact i looked at several [adult swim] related animes on youtube from start to finish, like trinity blood, blood+ and trigun

Sorry to say westpark, not many people joined your boycott and the offset of non-anime viewers coming it brought Adult Swim much higher ratings than the usual anime night.

Compare these ratings from three weeks ago (two weeks ago the anime ratings were worse so I'm giving you a better gauge point)

An episode of Clone Wars scored over a million viewers at 5:30AM and so did both hour airings of Family Guy and Robot Chicken Star Wars III. Heck the first runs score over 1.5 million but that's not much better than Family Guy and The Boondocks do on a regular basis. It's the 2:30AM-4:30AM numbers that are absolutely astonishing. The lowest rated show that night pulled in over 800,000 total viewers.

It's not good for anime. That is for sure.

It'll be okay, Sketch. Anime may not get the best ratings, but its not going anywhere.

If declining ratings are all it takes for a show to get pulled from the lineup, then all we would have left is Family Guy, .

Thankfully they don't set the bar Family Guy high for everything else but it is clear that Saturday especially after 2AM looks rather bad compared to other days of the week.

So I wouldn't be surprised to see comedy encores return to Saturday if WS is the least bit concerned with ratings in those hours but I trust that ASA is not going to be leaving us any time soon.

And I know Jeebus is pleased as punch that a night without anime did better than a night with it but every week ASA still airs remains the Adult Swim anime fan's victory.

Anime fans would just have to go back to being content with Adult Swim only airing some of their anime at a time. Though it would be pretty rough on the current viewers if they pulled the rug out from under them during the current runs of GitS 2nd Gig, InuYasha, Durarara, FMA: Brotherhood or Kekkaishi and most people hate to see Bebop take a break.

They kept 12AM onward on Saturday anime regularly for several years. The party was bound to end at some point and that may be coming soon. I just hope none the current running shows are pulled mid-run. They shouldn't have to be if they just dump the DRR and FMA:B encores and shift Bleach's encore to 5AM. Drop those encores and FLCL after it finishes it's current run and you've got 3 slots for comedy and if Big O takes a break when it finishes it's second season rerun that's 4 slots.

Doesn't really leave room for anything new other than Bleach though but that probably wont be a factor until some other spot can free up anyway. Kekkaishi's done in June for instance and I don't see it getting a 3rd run.

I freakin' hate the fact that he only shows P2+ ratings. I would like to see the A18-49 rating again. I'm gonna have to come up with a new algorithm estimating the A18-34 rating from the P2+, and it's not going to work nearly as well as using A18-49. KOTH, Family Guy, and American Dad are gonna be polluted with T12-17.

To be fair, they advertised the SW Saturday every single day the week leading up to it whereas if they advertise anything about the normal Saturday, it seems to end at Boondocks and even then it's only advertised on Saturday. And all 'special occasion type affairs' get a ratings spike since more people are willing to forego one Saturday night for a special occasion because they don't have to invest anything in an actual series.

So i hate to say it to all you Anime fans, But that Saturday with all the Star Wars Jargon was actually a really nice change of pace. I mean I like anime just as much as any other 24 yr old male, with excessive free time and lots of weed to keep me giggling (sarcastic of course.....about the anime that is >.<). But {AS}'s anime just continues to mesh into each other. I can start watching one, get distracted, turn back to another one and think its the same show.

Back in the days of the originals like Cowboy Beebop or Big O (when it first released) or even Inu-Yasha back in the beginning. those were great Anime's and you could ONLY get them very select days.

Now, Anime fans have ALL weekend and some weeknights to have there anime and they #### about having to watch terrific star wars oriented shows???? Oh Darn!!!

The only thing bad about the Star Wars line up was The Clone Wars. Not because its a bad show but because the night was full of fun, and funny slap-stick comedy to keep me ROFL all night....then......comes on a Serious Star Wars show. Really threw off the Fung-Shui....

And you dont have to agree with me, as {AS} programming is all opinionated and style-oriented depending on the viewer.

i just ask that you dont throw a little 5yr old girl hissy fit when {AS} Trys something new (and honestly hilarious) for ONE WEEKEND!!!!

I think people are overreacting here. Star Wars nights always get awesome ratings. That's why AS keeps doing them. Even on Sunday their Star Wars nights did great. And it's really no wonder why Family Guy and Robot Chicken episodes get great ratings, and why people might be inclined to watch a few episodes of Clone Wars A. Because they just got through watching Star Wars episodes of their favorite shows or B. Because they are waiting for Star Wars episodes of their favorite shows to begin.

absolutely, I agree.

It kinda threw a wrench in things when the Clone Wars came on though.

I mean I like the show but it did not fit in, in that block at all except for the fact that it was star wars related. They took something that was slightly relative and tried throwing it in with shows that have followers more devoted than the Nazi's lol.

I dont mean to knock Anime, as i said before, I enjoy a little anime here and there myself. Just not as of late. I loved when Anime first started on {AS} because they were all compelling shows with great story lines.

Now the shows they put on are either on there 11th re-run season or they cram what could be great shows in the middle of old shows and ####ty shows so the great show doesnt get the credit it deserves.

I like Blood +, but it got the boot, or atleast i havent seen it in a while.
Havent really seen Daturarara (sp?) but i hear good things, its just i gotta sit through FMA and Inu-Yasha and such like over-played showed before it even comes on and by then, im just through with Anime.

NOTE*
I do also enjoy GiTS 2nd Gig.

I just want more compelling, dark, story-book anime before i consider my self a {AS} anime fan.

p.s. If you want some anime or soemthin, that's mature and takes itself seriously I would suggest looking up some old ass anime made in the 80's and early 90's. Most pre-1995 anime and OVA's are goldmine for "mature" series and what not. One of my favorite movie is Future War 198X, worth a look.

See i like alot of the older stuff but im a Tech Junkie so its hard for me to get past the poor animation quality.

I rather enjoyed Anime Movies like Akira and Ju-Oh(sp? Wolf Brigade) .

But at the same time I like the dark stylings of anime's like Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop..... Great animation, Deep dark grainy story lines, and absolute obsquerity at certain points that make you go....
