Washington (CNN) -- Early this morning Congress voted to enstate a temporary, nationwide ban on a popular import from overseas. No, it's not tainted baby formula. It's anime.
Anime, otherwise known as 'Japanimation', or Japanese animation, are cartoons that originate in Asia. Staples of the genre that seperate it from other forms of animation are highly stylized characters, intense violence and, what some members of the house refer to as, "questionable" moral messages.
"It's worse than hardcore pornography." said congressman Ted Poe of Texas. "These aren't your father's Saturday morning cartoons."
