This thread is basically a open polite discussion of why "live action comedy" is the worst part of watching adult swim.

Using concrete examples is highly encouraged. Linking to adult swim.com youtube account is acceptable and HIGHLY encouraged..

The following is a semi racist sketch from tim and eric that shows a black man and woman getting married but it interrupted by horrible case of diarrea.

The "solution" is a contraption that is inserted into a person to "preven the flow of diareea".

Oh I love that sketch, it's really funny! Tim and Eric are awesome.

Childrens Hospital also has some really awesome stuff in it! Enough awesome stuff for it to be one of my favorite shows ever. It's not all gross-out humor or random stuff, there are actually some pretty clever jokes in these shows. Like this one.

Yeah, that is another excellent point.

Adult swim is on CARTOON network... the fact that CARTOON network would allow live action poop humor is just stupid as hell.

I don't want to see half-hour shows on Adult Swim. I can find half-hours on other channels.

And get rid of the 11-minute ones, too. They're like half-half-hours.

It's not necessarily the worse part.  It's just that even with the cartoons, Adult Swim comedy is edgy and not to everyone's taste.  I don't like most of the live action stuff.  Some has it's moments,  but I don't like Tim & Eric and Loiter Squad.

And such programming is precisly why people call television "The Idiot box". I think since its a cartoon channel it needs to have more cartoons. If they started showing the liveactions only one day a week, they'd probably get better ratings

I just dont get whats funny about it... .... but on the other hand i do know that sertain ppl enjoy that kind of shows so i think theres enough space in the [as] block to please everyone.

With that said i have to agree with ya i dislike the all the live action series aired on [as] and imo that new show loiter squad is the same as tim and eric... same lolipop with different sticks.

The worst problem i have with it is that "ITS NOT FUNNY"
Instead of giving me laughter it makes me wana puke.

I even have tried to watch it several times and try to find a liking in to it but with no success :[

Childrens Hospital, NTSF : SD : SUV, Eagleheart and Delocated are all very entertaining comedies. Honestly some of my favorites from recent years for Adult Swim along with China, IL. I don't care for Tim and Eric but they have their fans. I enjoyed Tom Goes to the Mayor to an extent but Awesome Show has never appealed to me but you know what? I does not have to.

Adult Swim airs a variety of programming because they understand they have a variety of viewers. The majority really just want more Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken but the live action shows have their fans, the quirkier animated comedies have their fans and the anime has their fans as well. They can all co-exist happily and more than one kind of viewer can enjoy Adult Swim. I see no problem with that in all honesty.

If you do not enjoy any particular program or type of program then you have the option to simply not watch it.

No need to attempt to get shows you do not like off the block simply because you do not like them.

We can all share. It's something we learned in pre-school or at least grade school. The concept should be very easy to grasp for us now that we are adults.

If you ask for the removal of a show you do not like then you are no better than the people asking for shows you do not like to be removed.

This is why all this bickering is silly and accomplishes nothing. It's just a television block. It's not the end of the world of you do not enjoy every show on it and frankly I pitty the person who actually watches all 63 hours a week of Adult Swim because for one thing they'll see the same episode twice a day for over half of the those hours.

Exactly. I don't have a problem with live-action comedy, per se, just with it being on Cartoon Network. CN should be airing cartoons not people...

cuz it cuts n2 valuable cartoon time

Adult Swim is the only place in town with these bizarre 11-minute live action shows. They wouldn't work on channels like Comedy Central, TBS or whatever like some people keep insisting they would because they wouldn't be able to hold a more mainstream audience, they'll have to be watered down and thus lose what thems them so great. Adult Swim always had, and still has that underground sensibility despite increased popularity in recent years.

I'm more likely to change the channel when Robot Chicken comes on than most of the live action shows. I could take or leave most of them, but Tim and Eric is pretty funny, and Robot Chicken is pretty not.

W/the exception of T&E they can scrap ALL the live-action comedy. I don't even watch the trash.  As in unlike say Superjail, I haven't even given it a shot.
