The show has nothing to do with hicks, the show is about a working class man, his wife, his son, his dumbass niece, his bastard father, his bimbo step mother & their wide assortment of neighbors and coworkers

Family Guy uses the same formula

So does The Simpsons, American Dad, The Honeymooners, Married With Children & so on & so forth

I'll give you 259 reasons why they still air it. That's the number of episodes of it that there are. Bonus points for those being half hour episodes.

Because of that, they can run an hour of it every weeknight and not repeat an episode for almost six months. This creates a nice, reliable staple show for their schedule that doesn't suffer from quick burnout.

If they ran an hour of Aqua Teen or Robot Chicken episodes every night, they'd run out in six weeks, not months. That would lead to a much higher rate of burnout.

It's no coincidence that the shows that are staples on the schedule are the comedies with the greatest number of episodes. Other things rotate in and out, but King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad, Aqua Teen and Robot Chicken are always there.

Unlike the live-action garbage [as] is currently promoting....KOTH actually sells ads & brings in the bacon, like all Fox comedy. I watch it on occasion but its still popular, as you can see how its on all the time.

KotH popularity is pretty much a regional thing. It's not really popular in the PNW, nor is it popular with Cali.
