To be fair, they did a Cannonball Run skit in Season 1. That wasn't topical back then (although it gave them an excuse to get Burt Reynolds, so that's a plus)

Back then there were only a handful of shows. Now there are several dozen.

In 2004 I liked most shows and disliked some others.
In 2012 I like most shows and dislike some others.

Nothing whatsoever has changed for me. Don't know about you.

I remember seeing seething hatred as far back as 04 when Goz died and post-Goz Sealab aired. Then Tom aired and it just snowballed, the action block became total crap, etc...

Yeah, you're right on both accounts. Tom was definitely a big turning point. So late 2004 is when it started to "suck," and it hasn't turned back.

AS started to diversify their programming which some people can't stand. Looking back, ATHF, Sealab, and Birdman were pretty "safe" programs compared to the much more experimental shows on the block since then.

So true. Everybody is a critic, and I think that quote speaks for itself here.

Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, and even Home Movies were all appropriate back in the day, but if [as] were still airing them today, do you really think they would be able to keep their head above water? I know their endorsement from Cartoon Network and Turner seems inevitable but it's not. Example: these forums exist because [as] is testing our interest and trying to weed out what its viewers want. If everything were perfect, do you think [as] would even exist anymore? [as] is far from perfect, and personally I feel that's where we all declared our love for it in the first place. I feel that way because (ironically) all the shows you name that are 'poor' somehow exemplify how humanity constantly strives for their perspective of perfection. We watch them, discuss them, complain about them, whatever have you. And no matter how we go about voicing our feedback, [as] still reads through them and sometimes air them. How many channels would honestly have the courage to do that?

So, really, who cares if [as] puts these new shows on TV? They're growing and expanding. As long as they continue to listen to us and keep their original message going (I can name three examples off my head over how). [as] is willing to improve so I don't think it's their fault that you don't like their new shows.

Exactly my point. They do enough of 'listening' and they're successful, so [Steve Brule voice] who cares?

Smh, people need to learn to stop being so selfish... or at least less whiney. If people don't like [as], don't complain, they should suggest to make their shows better... rather than complaining about how they are apparently terrible.

None, that's how many. This network was intrepid enough to launch ATHF, Sealab, and Birdman at launch, shows pretty off the beaten path at the time, and they've aired even more esoteric shows since then.

It's always worked for me just to take the bad along with the good and enjoy the ride, and appreciate the fact that there's a network out there willing to go out on a limb.

Not necessarily. I only ever watched [adult swim] and Cartoon Network. Then Cartoon Network died. Now I only watch [adult swim]. The other channels are all the same, really. Isn't that why we're all here right now?

I still feel like FX is my favorite channel right now, but AS is up there.

Nick (only when Legend of Korra is on, then its just Nick at Night)
TVLand when Roseanne or the Nanny is on (their first attempt at original shows (Hot in Cleveland and Happily Divorced) are quite good believe it or not) or their original shows are on.
FX when Archer is on
Comedy Central for..........well, alot of shows (most predominate being Ugly Americans and South Park)
TBS, for when theres nothing else on.

also NBC, but only when Grimm is on.

also whatever channel the Big Bang Theory, Mentalist, Person of Interest, and Rules of Engagement are on.

I dont know but the live action comedy is just awful..... Adult Swim is a place where awesome actors go to die. Everything live action AS makes is pure trash. Cartoons Networks should stick to cartoons.

Boondocks is a great show. Just make sure not oqoute uncle Ruckus when referring to any other show on AS because they will ban you just like they did my other name OnlyEnglishAnime

Adult Swim made most of its fans using a certain format of "Cartoon only programming". People are angry because a network that once focused on cartoon now focuses on crap. Live Action cost more and lets be honest they are all trash. No intellegence, no real content, #### writting and ####ty acting. Your right AS can be whatever they want to be, and viewership during most of the week will fall off. I only toon in during certain show timeslots now, but back when this network started i could just turn my TV on to AS and let it play. Now use Hulu and anime site for my cartoons. They want to play carp then i wont watch crap.
