It wasn't that sudden, and Luuv posted at the end of the thread his reason for closing it.
I'm sure no one be opposed to you making another one.

yep. the topic wasn't the problem I think it was the chat.
try to keep your threads on topic, and away from turning into those social kind of back-and-forth chat rooms ("hi!" "hi!" "how are you?" "fine!" "i'm bored" "yeah me too" "where's userX?" "said he'd be on later tonight" "I'm going to go make cookies" etc etc. ESPECIALLY if it leads to exchange of personal information.
During the session I was on that your thread was closed, I had to delete two other large threads due to finding PAGES of off topic chatter and several posts where users were exchanging personal information. Those threads were deleted. I closed yours to preserve the posts that were actually on topic.
When large threads get closed here's what you do: Make "Trigun Discussion Group Part 2" and link it to the first thread. That way everybody can see the posts in the first thread, and hopefully the new version won't be as chatty.
Also an added note: when threads reach a certain size, they become a problem for the system. So, when a thread reaches over 2000 we try to keep an eye on it and close up the big threads somewhere around 2000-5000 posts. Sometimes when you get the "processing..." screen it's due to these threads being moved or dealt with basically. So it's best not to let them get too large. It's better to close them up to preserve the conversation, and allow the participants to make a "Part 2" thread.
