Adult Swim Orders Bob Odenkirk Pilot

Adult Swim has ordered Regal Productions, a live-action comedy pilot created, directed, produced and starring Bob Odenkirk. Odenkirk developed the project with Brian Jarvis and Jim Freeman who will co-star in the pilot with him. The comedy, executive produced by management/production company Odenkirk/Provissiero, revolves around Regal Productions, which, in a strip mall in North Hollywood, churns out wedding videos, internet ads, low budget infomercials and even feature films for “ancillary” markets. Former Saturday Night Live writer Odenkirk recently recurred on How I Met Your Mother and Breaking Bad.

I will without a doubt end up seeing Bob's show if it airs, but I would be far more excited if Steve was doing a pilot.

Seriously? This is the guy whose AS credits are only producing overglorified Youtube Poop (everything Tim and eric have been a part of). Also, last I checked, this is CARTOON NETWORK which Adult Swim is running off of. Is AS just gonna keep handing out every hack comedian a frelling real live TV series? Or are we going to get some actual decent animation that doesn't involve blood flying everywhere just to get a cheap laugh?

I'm sick of tim and eric, sick of Children's Hospital, sick of Delocated, and I'm sick of all the animation focusing on blood flying everywhere (Superjail, Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, etc). Give us some quality shows, or give the night slot back to Cartoon Network's "Midnight Run".

Is this 2007? You've had four years to get used to live action on Adult Swim which by the way is called "Adult Swim" not called "Adult Swim Which Exclusively Airs Cartoons", yes Adult Swim was originally designed to just be animation, but aren't things allowed to evolve? I, and alotta other people believe we've gotten some good shows out of live action that couldn't air on channels like Comedy Central like people keep saying they should like Childrens Hospital, Delocated, Eagleheart, etc (shows on which you are sick of). The one thing that concerns me is the lack of new animation, besides Mongo Wrestling Alliance which is not so gooda, the animation only has to rely on older shows. But hopefully we should be getting Soul Quest, Tight Bros, Black Dynamite, Major Lazer over the next year or so and hopefully one of them should be good.

I have high hopes for Black Dynamite. If it's as funny as the film is, then it will be one of the best comedies on television.
