Hm. That's a tough one, especially if the dex benefits aren't outwardly apparent.
I'm considering a mildly armored knight or a caster. If I go the caster route it will be my second attempt at making a battlemage. ;3

For those who were interested, I just got a text from Gamestop confirming my pre-order, and notifying me that I can stop by on Monday night to pick up Dark Souls.
MIDNIGHT RELEASE! WOOT!

I'm gonna start new game with each class
Why? Class doesn't matter after the first couple levels. The only difference is the starting stats and some unique equipment.

Eventually it really won't matter, but for a good while it does in Demon's Souls. It isn't just a few upgrades until you could be any other class.
... I have no idea what the available classes are for Dark Souls or what gifts are. I like to keep myself in the dark with games I'm really excited about. I want everything to be new.. even just basic things like available classes.
I will start with a wanderer if that's available again. Only because that's what I used on Demon's Souls the first time through.
Oh! I was thinking about this yesterday or the day before. It would have been really neat if on the PS3 version of Dark Souls you could find a dark phantom of your character(s) from Demon's Souls. There are games where data carries over from one game to the next. This would have been an awesome, small way to connect these two. Plus it would have gone well with the tone of the series. No matter what you did in the first game, in that world, it seems like you would eventually become a black phantom. It's just how cruel the world is.
That would have been a neat way of linking the two games together.
I can only imagine how they would have coded the data, though. You see, I'm thinking about the drops associated with the black phantoms, so it would only be fair to be able to pick up weapon and armor that you were wearing when you last beat Demon's Souls. ;3

Class matters a lot longer than that in this game.... if it's the same as Demon's Souls.

It's a key that unlocks all doors called the Master Key or something like that. It is automatically given to the Thief and can also be acquired by other characters through gifts. It's the only gift that you cannot get through normal play of the game.
That's awesome and ridiculous all at the same time!

It's a master key for unlocking any door in the game. Usually you gotta kill a boss or monster to get keys but thieves will be able to skip certain parts of the game...
