I'm still missing a lot of them... I just dont care to make all the weapons or find them all. I do want to fight Gwyn though. I never beat him on my first character.

I don't care to make all the weapons, nor do I see myself playing through Dark Souls again. It's a great game, and I loved every second of it.

But I'm not into the whole speedrunning thing, so multiple playthroughs don't satisfy me. My Pyromancer build was so overpowered in the first playthrough that the added health increases to enemies really doesn't impact me still.

I facked up my first character with the soul glitch and scaling enemies, so I had to start over. With this game it really helps to play through ti once and struggle. Learn the ways of the game for next better build.

I guess that's really the thing -- I didn't struggle for most of it. I definitely died a lot playing the game, but I beat it at a pretty reasonable pace about a month after I bought it during the thick of semester course work. I never really found myself hitting the brick walls like I did playing Demon's Souls, where I literally had to leave an area and return to it later. I don't know. October was a long time ago. But Demon's Souls was a significantly more painful experience, if my memory serves correctly.

I don't know what it is, but I can keep going back and playing the game time after time.

Right now I'm just messing around on the character I made with that soul glitch. I didn't use magic my first time through so this one has all the spells. It's just interesting seeing how different builds play.

I'll probably go back to my first character again and just go through the game multiple times like I did in Demon's Souls.

I feel the same way, but I still have to wonder if it would be the same had I played Dark Souls first instead of Demon's Souls.

Does anyone know what this ring of light is? It's in the hallway right next to one of the entrances to the room with all the bonewheel guys - where you kill the last mage that brings the skeletons back to life. The little ring would appear at one end and then the other end of the hallway and I have no idea what it is. It looks just like the one that takes you to the city after the Iron Golem fight, but you can't interact with it or do anything special. (that i know of) The weird thing is, it also puts a circle over healing spells. o.O

Any thoughts? Is this just a glitch after updating?

Honestly, I'm not really sure what that is.  I could look in the book, but I'm a bit busy.

I feel like I've seen that before somewhere else, though...

HUZZAH!

It's a great game. I hope the success of this one pushes the company to make another in the same line. I can keeping coming back again and again for these.

Actually, I'm not so sure I'd want another one.

Demon's Souls was exceptional, and though Dark Souls was better in just about every fashion, I think a third game would really fatigue the label. Part of these games' allure is that they're rare gems. Putting out one of these games every few years would kind of demystify the experience, and really begin to generalize the things that make these two games so unique.

We don't need every game to turn into a franchise, if you catch my drift.

That's a good point. I'll have to stick to replaying these two over and over again.

Well, considering that there are 700+ possible levels to get in Dark Souls (and a myriad of ways to play the game) that is entirely possible.  :smileyhappy:

That would have been great if they had add-ons. After so long the game will get boring and you will want more, more of the same experience with more variety or weapons/enemies/exploration etc.

From Software had how many Kings Field games? Even other titles, but just now (with Demon's Souls) their vision came to life.

I really do hope there will more Souls.

I've had an urge to play this again recently.

I wish the co-op play was better, and I wish I could play with people by choice rather than some random.

Have they done anything to patch the multiplayer functions? Half of them didn't seem to work well when I played through.

I haven't played in a while myself. The only online function was broken for me is the lag. And the imminent back stabs from the front.....

I like the randomness. It gives the game a unique, dark feeling of loneliness.

I could never get the covenant items that let you invade people to work. The times I did get invaded seems completely by coincidence; but I was never able to actually invade others...the summoning always failed.
