Devil Survivor 2 and Overclock

Devil Survivor is getting both a remake and a sequel.

Devil Survivor 2 is being developed for the DS. It's not to be confused with 3DS title Devil Survivor Overclocked, which is a remake of the first Devil Survivor.

Mysterious invaders known as the "Septentrion" suddenly attack Japan one Sunday. They make their attacks once a day from then on. It's up to a band of 13 demon summoners to deal with the attackers within seven days.

Characters introduced in the magazine include:

Main Character A third year student at a school in Tokyo. He gets caught up in all the happenings while on his way home from a test, and learns of his ability to summon demons.
Io A student in the same grade as the main character. He's a gifted student who's admired by others.
Daichi The main character's friend from childhood, and also a fellow student in the same grade. She's cheerful, bt doesn't think too deeply about things.

Gameplay will combine simulation with command battle elements. You'll be able to obtain new demons through demon auctions. One new system is the "Enishi System", which has something to do with your ties with your friends.

Staff includes Kenji Ito on sound. Like the original, the main character designs are from Durarara's Suzuhito Yasuda. Mohiro Kitou is doing the designs for the Septentrion invaders.

The remake of Devil Survivor called Devil Survivor Overclock will include a 8th Day, english voice acting, more demons, difficulty settings, and hopefully more.

If it was America they were attacking on a Sunday I could understand why you would be mad.

Also the name of the attackers makes me think they are aliens.

No country deserves to be attacked on a Sunday.

I'd expect it of a Monday, though.

Yet despite that the scans for the game hint at the possibility that the alien Septentrions might be attacking in order to save mankind.

This is Alioth, the Septentrion that attacks on Thursday.

I'll be posting a fullview image of the three main characters later once they artwork has been released for all thirteen devil summoners.

More information has been revealed about the 13 characters and Septentrions.

The rainbow ice cream cone is Sunday's Douhe. It is the first Septentrion to attack. The floating "ice cream" part of it can expand and explode.

The sun-like one is Megrez, which attacks on Wednesday. It comes out of the Pacific Ocean, firing the multi-colored spikes on its body at various parts of Japan. The spikes can move and summon demons to attack people.

The blue wing-like Septentrion is Merak, which attacks on Monday. It can transform and use puck-like sub units to attack, which can be made to explode.

Also four new characters have been introduced and are part of a group called the Jips Organization. I won't be posting pics of them till all thirteen have been revealed.

One is Yamato(17) and is the top member of Jip which his family created.  Looks like Naoya from the first game.

Makoto (26) is a loyal member of Jips Tokyo.

Otome (24) of Jips Osaka is friendly and deals with medical areas. Looks like she is a nurse.

Fumi (21) of Jips Nagoya is a knowledgeable scientific researcher, though she shows little interest in anything else. She'll be the only one I post a pic of cause she has laptops floating around her.

No news on Overclocked. Which is a shame cause it should be coming out in a month or two. Maybe three.

The english site is up for Devil Survivor Overclocked with voice clips on the character profiles. Not sure if I should put a link to the site or not.

Sounds like Kyle Hebert is voicing Naoya. I was expecting him to voice the Gigolo. Already figured out that Atsuro and Yuzu would be voiced by Spike Spence and Melissa Fahn.

I heard the Japanese version should be out in August. Not sure if that applies to the English version or not.

.

More Devil Survivor 2.

The bonds mentioned in it are suposed to be similar to Social Links and determine which faction you support and the ending you get.

Spoiler
I've heard it's possible to side with the invading alien Septentrions as well.

Also the 12 characters make a deal with the devil in order to become Devil Summoners. I wonder what Louis Cypher will look like in this game?

Just pre-ordered Overclocked today.

Before I play, I need to know if it won't be too hard for someone who's not all too much of an SRPG fan?

I heard you can change the difficulty setting in  the game. Which it didn't have in the original.

I suggest you check out faqs or ask what you should do on the net. Or buy a guid. But I can tell you that the more difficult missions involve NPCs.

For a certain boss that you face on the third day and certain endings you should have the main character have a certain amount of strength on him because said boss is immune to everything except the MCs attack. But you can't ignore his magic, vit, or speed stats either. But other than that the MC doesn't need much strength and should rely more on magic.

You might also want to keep track of what you're doing cause it could have consequences such as characters dieing, locking you out of certain routes, and turning allies into enemies.  If you're not too sure of what to do go for the easiest route first. Which I'll tell you about when the game comes out.

Hm, well I definitely think I'll start out on the easiest setting, since I'm not too good at SRPGs, but I really want this one since I held out on the original for so long.

Sounds a little bit complicated, but I'm sure it won't be completely difficult for me. I might use a faq, too. Because somehow in all RPGs I always end up screwing something up without a faq. ._.

You could always try the game first without one. I knew which route I was going for on my first playthrough so I didn't care about how well I did during it.

Also wanted to let you guys know that Overclocked will be out in seven days.

Plus a trailer that shows devil auctioning and fusion.

I figured I would let you know that easy mode just means you earn more EXP, more Macca(Demon Money), and the AI is less aggressive.

Well at least it makes it a bit easier. >_<

Right now I just finished that mission on day 1 where they think they found Naoya, but it was just a bunch of demons. I kinda struggled with that, but I managed to win the fight.

Just play carefully. Even on easy the enemies still do what they do best. You got to make sure you play strategically and have demons that will help in a situation. As each demon clan has its own racial ability that can be usefull.

Also the stuff you carry over on NG+ depends on how many points you got through achievements. It has a grade shop and is like the one from Tales games where buy what you want to carry over to the next playthrough.

This is the stuff that's in 3D:

Opening
Title Screen
Fusions

I ust spent hours playing Devil Survivor Overclocked. I'm on the 5th day.

Spoiler

I'm past the part where I help Mari defeat Kudlak, brought Keisuke back to his senses, and learned about the truths about the Shomonkai and the lockdown. This is crazy.

Wow. The things you mentioned in your spoiler are usually stuff most people don't figure out till the second playthrough.

Well on the sixth day you'll be sent a email about which routes are available. Five in all(technically six but two routes are pretty much the same thing). Not to mention 4 8th Days(2 happen on the same route)

Spoiler

Yuzu's is the easiest and always available. However Yuzu's 8th Day is hard if you're unprepared. You have a choice whether you want to do the 8th Days or not. But you'll have to playthrough the entire game all over again to do her 8th Day if you don't do it then.

Atsuro's is the second easiest.

Both Amane's and Naoya/Kaidos routes have boss rushes in them. Which makes them difficult if you're unprepared since you'll face all the Bels again(Including a much stronger Beldr). Amane has a 8th Day and Naoya/Kaido has two 8th Days. When you beat one of Naoya/Kaidos 8th Days you get the option to do the other one.

Gin's is difficult thanks to the fact that you'll lose all your demons before you face the final boss.

Also if you go down Naoya/Kaidos and Gins route make sure to recruit Black Frost. The only Demon who counts as a human character.
