Not shown is compendium that's also in DeSu: Overclocked. Over 200 Demons including ones most Western fans have never seen in the series(including Joan of Arc), new skills, and more.
I'm at Mr. Ice Cream Alien with Joe in my team. Imust say I was surprised when I lost the fight when I did the NPC Joe battle. I never lost a battle in the first game besides the Ultimate Boss.

Seriously? That's awesome. Hard SMT is best SMT.
I just picked it up, haven't started yet. Had to find, and clean, my DS before playing. Been awhile...
It was really moe carelessness. I sent Daichi by himself with demons to face two enemies I didn't think would be that much of a threat while the other two dealt with the four that were nearby.
I completely sent them in unprepared. Haven't died since. But I've lucky a couple of times.
#### Keita. Death by falling down stairs is the most pathetic death ever in a game where low strength lets demons move Subway trains.
Also there are four routes in the game. If you want to do them you must get their Fate high enough. You get a special ending if you get locked out of all four.
Check the team stats. The ones with better stats or with the most points in str/mag and speed you should use cause speed gets you more turns. Don't forget to put some in vit since you need to be able to take a hit.
Also there's a Free Battle missions at the end of the day so you might want to level up Joe, Io, and Protagonist a bit.
What level would you recommend before I take on the first main battle of Tuesday. I think it's like "Girl being attacked" or something like that. There's two choices lol.

As much as leveling will let you.
I think you can reach like 20-22 before exp gets really small. It's been some time since I did it.
I suggest fusing a couple of good Genma demons(Ichitnike is level 21. Jambavan is 13) since they let you move through objects and decrease the time it takes for your next turn to show up. Along with maybe one waira with devil speed since you'll have to target the guy with food to prevent him from escaping.
Have you been restarting after doing character events to see what choices might get their fate up faster? It helps. Agreeing with them usually ends up doing it. Though there are special cases. Storyline events also increases their fate. But I think you should do that on instinct since going through the entire battles again would be such a pain on the first playthrough.
Just so you know here are the routes and characters who join{Plus Character whose fate you must level up to get it) on those routes.
Daichi, Yamato, Ronaldo, and Anguished One routes.
Daichi: Hinako, Io, Jungo(Anguished ONe will never join.)
Yamato: Keita, Fumi, and Makoto(Ronaldo and AO will never join.)
Ronaldo: Airi, Joe, Otome(Yamato and AO will never join)
Anguished One: Only you and Anguished One.{Yamato and Ronald will never join)
I'm telling you now cause you need to get the character who don't join on the route you plan on doing to at least four if you want to recruit. Do this for the characters you want most though.
It will also be cheaper to buy demons in the auction instead of getting them through the compendium. Then level up demons and fusing them together to get the strong ones. Don't want you to have to macca grind for that yet.
Oh and when are you starting Girl in Combat? The earlier the better cause you have one after it called Boy in Combat who also needs to be done early.
The boy Jungo will die unless you do certain events.
Also for the auction make sure you buy the five star ones. Those are the best with extra points in their stats and extra or learned skills. Not to mention they randomly let you access special auctions that might have good demons.
Constant resetting for best fate increases isn't really needed except for maybe one route. I'm on last day now with all characters at fate 5 except for Ronaldo, Daichi, Io, and AO. You can probably guess from that which route I'm on, heh.
Speaking of, you sort of left out one route though it's mostly the same:
Daichi has two routes, a normal and another if you get all characters except AO to 4 fate beforehand.
Saving people is really easy this time around. Just do any battle/story events as soon as available and you'll be safe. Unlike the first game the time doesn't auto-advance to a certain point after specific battles, so you can usually do all the battles for that day very early on then spend the rest of the day on Fate events.
Io will die automatically if her affection isn't at a certain amount by the event on day 6. It needs to be a bit beyond rank 3.
So who is everyone using party wise? I've been doing MAG-MC, Keita, Fumi, Otome for most of the game and we destroy things. Keita one-turning bosses with multi-strike is hilarious.
I am pretty close to the end now, just #### around with fusions seeing how many broken ones I can make. I'm tempted to give my whole group an Anzu for the Avian-buff. I managed to make one with Multi-strike, Holy Dance, Ares Aid, Anti-All, Null Phys and he's really useful thus far.

Yes but you see some people are really bad at that. I usually end up picking the silly answers and that usually works with someone like Joe. But not everyone.
I will admit the final boss of this game is harder than the final boss of the first one. Even on Gin's route I found it pathetically easy in the first game.
Can't wait to fight those three Ultimate Bosses on the next playthrough.
Though I must admit I find it hilarious what they did with Satan in this game. Not only is the Absolute Law Angel now a Fallen Angel but he's calling himself the King of Demons too. Times have changed.
I didn't have any trouble with him with everyone around ~65, it was really easy actually. But like I said, I did end up spending a lot of time fusing beforehand. Nearly all my demons had Reflect or Null phys with Anti-Most, all the magic users had Holy Dance and the Phys users had Multi-Strike.
In the final phase I ended up skipping most of the mechanics of the fight, I just sent my MC and Otome straight at the core. He was dead before Keita/Fumi even reached the other two sides.
The auto-skill that grants a free party-physical reflect + plus Otome with an Abaddon outside his attack range meant he couldn't seriously fight back. Just spammed Holy Dance for a few turns and it was over.
I'm tempted to try a Physical MC for my next play through, but I'm not sure the (nearly) infinite resources is worth the huge defense trade off.
Getting to the boss was the hardest part for me. MC was good to go, but the rest of my character were dead in one or two turns. Actually, the first time I got to the final boss, it was just MC's party, and after a turn or two, it was just MC. I lasted way longer than I expected. I was swarmed so badly I stayed at the back of the turn order.
I also used the auction too much, instead of spending the money to get demons that already had the moves I wanted plus stat boosts.
Well on the sixth day you'll be sent a email about which routes are available. Five in all(technically six but two routes are pretty much the same thing). Not to mention 4 8th Days(2 happen on the same route)
Yuzu's is the easiest and always available. However Yuzu's 8th Day is hard if you're unprepared. You have a choice whether you want to do the 8th Days or not. But you'll have to playthrough the entire game all over again to do her 8th Day if you don't do it then.
Atsuro's is the second easiest.
Both Amane's and Naoya/Kaidos routes have boss rushes in them. Which makes them difficult if you're unprepared since you'll face all the Bels again(Including a much stronger Beldr). Amane has a 8th Day and Naoya/Kaido has two 8th Days. When you beat one of Naoya/Kaidos 8th Days you get the option to do the other one.
Gin's is difficult thanks to the fact that you'll lose all your demons before you face the final boss.
Also if you go down Naoya/Kaidos and Gins route make sure to recruit Black Frost. The only Demon who counts as a human character.
Ok I managed to beat Belial barely. Dude was tough, and I've decided on going...
