Re: PlayStation Vita

I've been sold on the console since they first said two analogue sticks. I absolutely love my PSP, I've probably played it more than any other console this generation. Improved engine and an extra control stick is all Sony really needed to say to me. The fact they have a surprisingly good software line up, even at launch, is icing on the cake.

With all that said, I don't know when I'll actually be buying one. Many great games I consider must-buy in the next month, and I don't know if I can afford to lay down the money for a new console. Though I understand why Sony is using a new proprietary memory format, I really wish they used the normal memory stick or an SD card. Would massively cut down on cost.

The recent announcement of all 3G models coming with a free 8GB and PSN game has tempted me though. Really really tempted me. If I do end up getting it now after all, for launch titles I'll probably go with Lumines and Shinobido.

Gravity Rush, Disgaea 3, and Sumioni all look like guaranteed purchases down the line.

And for what it's worth, Uncharted is NOT a launch title. It'll be coming out soon, but it is not coming out at launch.

Uncharted is definitely a launch title. It's supposed to be pretty good too, nearly everything I've heard about it from Japanese vita importers has been positive.

Derp, my mistake. I had heard that it wasn't coming out until April, but upon looking it up after you said that, you're right.

With 3G you get ATT for the plan of $15 per 250mb, or $30 for 3gig.

I played it today. =)

Sadly, my Best Buy only had Little Deviants, which isn't particularly impressive, but it helped me get a feel for the touch controls and the AR content.

Plus the thing seems really comfortable to hold, not to mention pretty light.

I'm trying to hold back from purchasing a Vita but whenever I see footage for Lumines or Super Stardust Delta, it's making me want to reach my wallet ever so bad.

Also, Target is having a Buy 2, Get 1 free on all Vita games starting next week in time for the Vita launch.

theres already way too much competition from the 3ds, the ds and all its models, the psp, and smart phones. not to mention it's doing real bad in japan.

I will get it but probably not until the end of this year or a bit later. I just got a 3DS two months ago, don't need another new handheld yet.

I forgot what the censor word was....

Anyway, picked up three games for it at Target, buy two get one free, Mod Nation Racers, UMvC, and Lunimes. Haven't played them yet. I also downloaded three free games from the Store, these three use the camera and the "something reality" feature, you set the cards on the floor, and instead of the cards, something else pops up and you play with it. Very cool and entertaining.
The system is surprisingly fast when it comes to accessing the internet, a lot faster than other wifi devices I've used before. Touch screen is great, too, this is important because of touch screen devices I've had/used, not all touch screens work like they should.

One downer so far, well, two downers, minor. You do not show up on your friend list, you appear offline. However, chat options and messaging is all present and can be used. The load time between applications is kinda slow. I'm not sure how to explain, it doesn't load slow, it just switches to an app or options or whatever else kinda slow.... it's weird.

But I love it, very satisfied with the purchase.

Hint, do not buy screen protectors. If you think they never worked properly on any other device, this is even worse....

Yeah I understand.

Vita is pretty great. I love it. I suggest ModNation Racers. Awesome game.

Battery life is about 5 hours, though. Depending on how much things you have running at once. The charger cord is pretty long, too, so finding an outlet in places should not be hard.

Is it longer than the PSP's?

It's really hard justifying a new system when you look at it like that, huh?

I think the Vita is neat and all, but I just don't need another system that I'll be worrying about games with. Sometimes I feel like there are too many choices just between my PS3 and 360. Adding a handheld would be way too much.

I got so tired of trying to platinum Uncharted 3....

Plus, it's the most expensive game for Vita.
