Zelda 2?  God, that one sucked.  And it was incredibly difficult.

Hah no, not the games I was talking about the official timeline. There's so many holes in it. And they didn't even try to explain it.

You gotta get on that.  Even if it's not a great Zelda, any Zelda fan still has to play it.

And it was interesting having Link's, Zelda's, and Ganondorf's existences explained.

It was kind of explained.  Like, who knew that there was third timeline that occurred because it was possible for Ganondorf to kill Link in OoT and acquire the Triforce?.  And it's official canon, so it doesn't matter if you hate it or not.  It still counts.

And there's enough fan explanations that are mostly right.  I recall this one 200 page thesis that was written on the timelines...

You should buy it, then.  The one huge drawback to the game is the Wii Motion Plus controls.  Every little thing required some stupid motion game.  It wasn't' bad in Twilight Princess, but they went overboard in Skyward Sword.  And even though it's a 50-60 hour game, Hyrule has never seemed more small and confined.  If you can get passed those things, the game's not bad.  But you are constantly reminded of those things.

1. Ocarina of Time

2. A Link to the Past

3. Majora's Mask

4. Wind Waker

5. Link's Awakening

Would be my ranking. Skyward Sword belongs nowhere near the top of the list; but if I had to pick two more it'd be Twilight Princess and the Original game.

And linear as all hell...Not once during the game did I feel like exploring the confined pathways the game relegates you too, and even though the controls were frustratingly broken it was still far too easy.

The biggest sin that game makes, however, is the RELENTLESSLY annoying Fi and sending you back to the same dungeons a second time. It's almost as bad as Phantom Hourglass in that regard.

If I had my say, I'd rank Skyward Sword third to last behind the DS games.
