Nena - 99 Red Balloons... :smileyvery-happy:

I was sifting through the tons of files I had open in my wave editor (I often leave recordings sitting in that for months until my machine crashes and I lose them, haha), and one was a partial rip of the 99 Red Balloons single where I was switching between the 78, 45, and 33 RPM speeds quickly to get really warped samples. I used that for a filler track as part of a s**tty Noisecore split I'm doing, and it got me in the mood to listen to the song properly.

It really is a great song, though... Seriously, I get misty as f**k listening to it.

Sugary-as-f**k pop with depressing-as-hell lyrics... 100% WIN!

I think it's been several years since I last listened to the song Windowlicker by Aphex Twin, so I'm really digging that right now.

Don't ask me why I thought to revisit it at 3 AM (when I should be sleeping, or, at the very least, working on school stuff).

hello wet vegetables. there is a song that i know the lyrics to, but can't find it for the life of me.  if anybody can tell me what song these lyrics are to, i will scream like a monarch butterfly:

"I thought I saw you walkin, I thought I heard you talkin.  You were tellin someone of, all the love you felt....... I know we had to break up. How many times can we makeup?  Chorus: YOU MAKE ME BLUE."

the voice sounded a bit like Johana Newsom, but no harp so it wasn't her.  I NEED TO KNOW WHAT SONG THIS IS! :smileyhappy: BYE

Bleubird - Swichblades
An Ecclectic Mix
A (Mostly) Underground Hip Hop Mix
I made these as a better way to explain to people what kind of music I like but I suppose you could use LastFM if you wanted to cheapen it.
When I make music... my mission statement is to be the Tim Kinsella of Hip Hop, the Al Burian of Singer/Songwriters, and the Dose One of punk rock!
I used to have 500 cds now i have none,
but when it comes to vinyl, my Fugazi weighs a ton...

The Accused - Take My Time

IMHO, Crossover Thrash is usually boring (too "METAL" )... This is also pretty "METAL", yet it still manages to rule so hard...

Actually, that's not a fair assessment of Crossover as a whole, just with the majority of stuff I've heard. The Accused and Cryptic Slaughter are still **derp** though... Gimme recommendations if you've got them!

dunno if you can really call 'em crossover, but Sabertooth Zombie is always always always a good mix of thrash and whatever the hell else you wanna call it. amazing live, amazing studio, just got my Human Performance 7" in the mail today, and I've been listening to it straight. Check out "White Love", awesome awesome track about the power struggles of two powerful white men in a relationship with each other. NVM it's down right now, but when it comes back up, listen to dat shietttttt, SO GOOD.

lost sounds -- i get nervous

i was so obsessed with this song back in '04-'05. it was amazing blasting it in the car today.

good crossover thrash? hmmm...dealing with it by DRI (not as metal as their later albums) and pain of mind by neurosis (kinda crossover-y).
yeah, there are other good ones, but i can't remember and it's too late right now for a nostalgia trip to 10th grade.....

Not the band, but song off of Perfect Dark. Freakin' awesome atmosphere. I feel like I'm sneaking around with this song on, even though I'm sitting perfectly still.

"Impatience" by Fastbacks.

I watched the documentary Hype! the other day, which featured a performance of theirs, and so I figured I'd look into them a little more.

And I liked what I heard.
