Gosh, that groove. I feel like they could stretch it for an hour and I wouldn't mind.
I was rocking some power pop all morning in my iPod at work (I finally got a new one!). Specifically, THE QUICK and their record MONDO DECO.

I know it's totally gay but I just can't help it. Too darn catchy!
Yeah seriously, that song could literally just go on and on and I would love every minute of it. Power pop is the one genre I always wanted to get into, but just never have.
Well that Quick record was recently reissued by Radio Heartbeat, who specialize in the genre. Might want to check out their website at least for a few recommendations, if you're interested in the genre.
KaptKrunch here BTW.
Oh okay, yeah I was going to say. But yeah I will check them out. Any other Radio Heartbeat bands I should check out while I am at it?

today was fast and danger. therefore, hardcore.
"gritty walks through city blocks, shadows stray and stalk their prey, bourbon brawls through urban sprawls, rock bottom breaks my fall"
SO. HARD.

Lots of songs the last couple days including:
Paleo - Marry My Baby (I know it might sound incredibly lame, but the last two times he played here, it was incredibly hard to sit in the crowded room while holding a straightface the whole time and trying dsperatley not to weep, particularly when he played this on his 2nd visit to HSV, which was the first time I heard this song... It was better than the recorded version, I have to say, but I like the recording too).
Everything by Pataphysics! (specifically the song "Desperation For Beer"... Here's a "great" live version!
)
Boa - Duvet (yeah, I admit it, I first heard it on Serial Experiments Lain...
)
and Berlin - The Metro (I hate that they are mostly only appreciated for the god awful song, Take My Breath Away)!

This song is so beautiful and sad... I can't even describe... I'd really like to do a cover of this song, where it's sung rather than rapped/talked.

Good song, that.
I am WAAAAAY behind on checking the links here, haha... I'll get around to it, though!
My favorite song today was Avignon by The Orchids... Can't count how many times I've gone back to it today.

Yeah, the Hubble Bubble records are also really good. Those are the only other ones I've listened to though.
My favorite song today was Michael Hurley's "Knockando". It's not on YouTube though, so here's another older Hurley tune I like a lot:

I love this. Even though/especially because it's responsible for sending me on so many different ridiculous music kicks.
