Last time I saw them was when they were on tour to promote Ithyphallic. Definitely anticipating more tour dates, well, hopefully there'll be more anyway.

You are neither cold nor hot. So because you are lukewarm, I will spew you out of my mouth.

So in spite of the fact their lead guitarist died nearly three months ago at the start of a tour, gwar is f*cking touring again.

Unfortunately for me they aren't coming near by.

Some of you might be luckier.

I actually say today that this is only the first leg of the gwar tour. There's gonna be a whole other three weeks added later.

If any of these bands interest you, look them up cause they'll all be touring over the next couple months:

Goatwhore & Hate Eternal

Goatwhore & Dying Fetus

Behemoth & Watain

Overkill

Cannibal Corpse & Exhumed

I also saw that CC will be headlining the summer slaughter tour this year. I don't think any other bands have been announced yet.

I just wish it were the OG Sepultura :smileysad:

Sepultura/DEATH ANGEL | KRISIUN | HAVOK

Much Respect to DomoArigato89. Metal Trivia: When Donald Tardy is not playing drums for Obituary, He rescues Cats with his wife. Known as Metal Meowlisha, they also hold a benefit concert called "Headbangers Furball".

That they will. I saw them at madison square garden in 1985, they kicked ass.

Err, I mean I saw them with Nile on the those whom the gods detest tour. Very awesome.

Also, two more bands have been added to the summer slaughter tour list. Now it's cannibal corpse, between the buried and me, and the faceless.

I'm going to see Cannibal Corpse in April.

But yeah, that was the first time I ever saw/listened to Krisiun (short clip I took of the chaos) is when they supported Nile during the Gods Detest tour in '10.
I became a fan instantly that night as well as a fan of Dreaming Dead.

Definitely one of the most "brutal" bands I've seen live. I don't even listen to much DM anymore but their brand of it is undeniable.

I just took a look at Behemoth's tour dates and damnit, it's in Tampa. I really really really really want to see them. -_-

I guess I have a little under two months to plan something.

Nice seeing you around again. It's been forever.

Also, ATTN Techdeath/grindfiends

Origin, Cattle Decapitation, Aborted, and Decrepit birth will be touring april-may. I'll be seeing them as they end their tour (for once the headlining band is from my area).

Thanks, haven't been on in forever. Glad you will be making it to a good show.  Sadly I can not afford such things at this time but I hope to be getting around to something this summer. What ever happened to Danzigthrall? Don't see too many of the same people on here but it is good that some of the "die-hards" are still around.

I probably already made a post about this years ago lol But seriously you guys who are into The Swedish Metal scene should really look into ordering the book Swedish Death Metal by Daniel Ekeroth. Covers everything from Dismember, to Edge Of Sanity, to Candlemass. And there is an A-Z of almost everything single band from Sweden with a list of of all their demos and up to date albums. Pretty much like the bible of Swedish Metal haha.

Speaking of Sweden, what's the best Marduk album? Been wondering about them for a little while now.

I listened to Nile for the first time today.  Good stuff.  I'm still not a fan of growly vocals for the most part, but it was still awesome.

Nile is an aquired taste as is much of the genre. I hope that you continue to stay on this thread and gain the massive knowledge of the members. We can help you in all of your metal needs. I have been listening to mostly intrumental stuff these days, vocals just seem to get in the way of the music anymore.

I've been lurking on this thread for awhile, and post occassionally.

I tend to prefer either prog metal or more classic/early/influential-on-metal-but-maybe-not-metal bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and then more 80's thrash stuff, especially Megadeth.  I also own all of Dream Theater's metal albums, along with some other more modern stuff like Opeth and Symphony X.

Speaking of thrash, here are a few songs I can't get out of my head: This, this, and this.

That Death Angel riff is really catchy. It just won't leave my head.

Despite my tastes in death, thrash, and some stoner, Type O Negative has been my favorite band for a long time.

They're viewed as a goth band. I can see it but I never really liked them because of the goth aspect.

Then again, maybe I do. I don't listen to their bigger hits as much as I listen to the stuff no one has heard of, which I believe is their best work.

There's something about TON's music that speaks to me in a way. Some of their songs are the most passionate music I've ever heard.

I also like Buckethead, who I saw live for the first time about 6 months ago. It was amazing.

After watching him play other shows on youtube over and over and listening to him in my car, it was crazy to see him in person.

I was right in front of the stage, too. So close that I could've reached out and grabbed him.

Right at the end of one of his songs, he stood right in front of me and started shredding.

It was a small bar and stage area but he played for us like we were a huge arena.

He went through all his usual acts. He did the nun chuka thing, handed out weird toys like trick or treat baskets and Michael Myers dolls, danced with some giant foam fingers, and constantly did robotic moves as he played. The guy's almost unreal. I was in awe the whole time.
