Imagine a wall, if you will. This wall is made up of all the great things that happened in your life...

"When my heart is broken as usual over someone's evanescent beauty and design after design-- they fade like kingdoms with no writing and, look, I wheeze my way up to the station of Sahara's incomparable privacy and churn the air into a dark cocoon of effortless forgetting -- why should I shiver at the alter of enlightenment? Why should I want to smile forever?" -- Leonard Cohen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ulc51ZOGQk&feature=related probably my favorite new age artist/song.

Though, there was a different (slightly) sounding live version of this on the live in america cd, i think.

Anyway, since someone posted a Vangelis song, it reminded me of the guy at a local record shop telling me there's a Vangelis record that if you play it at a party, it's guaranteed to have a fight break out. I'm not sure if it's the one with the blue side and red side with the hands, or whatnot, but I found that sort of an odd thing for a new age record to do.

actually, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgO81dKsL4Y is really good (Kokoro).. probably better than silk road, imo, though silk road is like his most famous song

This probably doesn't apply too greatly to New Age but I suppose it somewhat does.

There's a song I heard in an Adult Swim commercial, that looked like a city with a few trees and an intersection.  The song sounded like chanting and it was a mere like seven seconds.  If any of you know which song it is please respond.  Thanks again!

New Age music transformed my vague dislike of pan flutes in a non-traditional setting to a swelling, pus-filled head. Save for a few Enya songs (Anywhere Is) and the cheese that is Return To Innocence, I'd rather just chill out and soul-search to Stars of the Lid or My Bloody Valentine.

Cool!  I have seen Mark McGuire play solo but not the whole group.  Really liked their self-titled record from last year, this one's growing on me though.

I actually haven't seen Emeralds perform ever If I recall correctly - Seen McGuire play a few solo sets and a couple of other acts with John Elliott -  blown a lot of kush with the guys though. Dig their albums for the most part, pretty chill, spacey stuff.
